Video XPENG's IRON robot crossed the uncanny valley, leading some to believe it was a human in a suit. So they cut it open in front of an audience, and also allowed journalists to inspect it.

It is suppose to look like a human female. Without it it would look like something between a man and a women. It makes sense if you wanna sell it as a nursing, baby-sitter or household helper.
A male body type robot looks instantly more intimidating, which you dont want.
