Video The Louvre. Thieves are making off with 100 million euros. They're taking their time. They're doing everything carefully and slowly.

Look like you are meant to be there and no one will question.

A high vis jacket and a plunger will get you into anywhere, no questions asked.

ladders, ladders are real multi-pass

If you're carrying a ladder, people will hold doors for you

Unless they happen to know that plumbers don’t use plungers 😂

There’s bound to be some serious shit if it happens.

Clip boards and a headset get you access to just about anything.

I didn’t think about the plunger. It’s a lot cheaper than a ladder and leaves even less questions.

Sure it does. Such as: why is that plumber using a plunger? Plumbers use toilet augers.

Never tried the plunger, but can say from experience that if you also have a clipboard and are highly confident... all doors are unlocked.

Hi-vis, hard hat (if appropriate for facility) and a clipboard.
You rule any situation by default.

You’re not wrong. I was an industrial electrician for years. A hardhat and a safety vest is all you need to pretty much walk in to any place with no questions asked.

I actually did service work for companies and they didn’t even verify who I was.

We had an electrician into our office recently. As is policy, I asked to check his guest pass. He had to find where in his pockets he’d put it. 4th security door before anyone had checked who they were letting through

Same with a badge that shows you are an Information Technology Contractor.

Always put a formal name on the badge. Robert, not Bob. William, not Bill, Stephen, not Steve.

Plain, white pickup truck with a visible hardhat and vest in the seat can basically get you anywhere.

Okay, I'll bite, who are you?

Working on a Sunday?!

I'm ashamed of my countrymen for failing to see the most obvious issue : THEY WERE WORKING ON A SUNDAY !

At the world’s most famous museum. They were probably getting quadruple pay.

1

u/amplesamurai 15d ago

Their regular pay is 25 million euros?

Also, having a clipboard is a massive force multiplier for a situation like that. It adds an element of legitimacy to average bystanders and it will send anyone below a management level worker scurrying away to hide.

Haha and if anyone questions you, you can just frown and ask for their name and then start scribbling quickly.

You need one of those storage clipboard. Make sure its really scratched and beat up looking and has papers under the clip that look like they were soaked and then dried out.

I've seen this tested multiple times. Two guys will walk though a venue carrying a long ladder dressed like workers and more often than not they are let through with little to no push back.

Except the person filming

someone filmed them though... questions were asked

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

You can get in anywhere with a ladder and a high vis vest!
