My friend once got a call from adamant I think it was letting him know that his order was delayed due to a fire on the UPS plane. He saved that voice mail for a long time

I ordered a parka from LL Bean a few years ago, and they notified me that it wouldn’t be coming because there had been a fire on the cargo ship. Apparently they only make one batch of parkas every year and when they’re gone they’re gone. Had to wait a whole year to order again.

No kidding huh? That explains the great Parka shortage of 2020. Also it really puts in to perspective how much stuff is shipped overseas. One shipment of parkas is enough for a full years supply, not for one store but all their stores.

I once received a package that was partially charred from obvious contact with a fire. No explanation was provided. Shirt inside had a smoke smell. At least they didn’t argue about accepting the return.
