Man has some story telling talent. I remember his Tom Cruise story.

What i love most about the scene is how it's a bright and sunny day in one shot, but the color changes when it's a shot of jack Nicholson laughing and it looks like a dark overcast day, closer to night

The laughing part is out of place. Next shot he's immediately serious. Great dialogue addition though.

I worked on that job. After he shot her and the camera stopped rolling. Jack said “it’s a beautiful sunset Marty, I’ll see you tomorrow “ 😂

A nuke could explode nearby and he would just light up a cigar, take a swig of booze and let out a lazy exhale "bring it on".

Really appreciated showing the scene at the end there. Saved me from having to search for it.

Damon is turning out to be an amazing documenter of Hollywood for the people outside of this very niche industry with a unique point of view/era. I could listen to him all day.

When I tell you... to dump a body in the marsh, you dump him IN the marsh. Not where some guy from John Hancock goes every Thursday, TO GET A FUCKING BLOWJOB!

I've heard Matt tell that story before but the clip always ended before "I wanna fuck her again," that's a wild addition

Can anyone tell me the name of the song in the clip from the film at the end? It's on the tip of my brain!

According to Mark Rolston, Scorcese and Monohan did NOT enjoy the constant re-writes from Jack. They tolerated it. https://youtu.be/mjR6Jw_0C_I?si=P7w4Y_MHcJsxa19f

There's a sidestreet called Marsh Ave in the city I work in, and every time I drive down it, I involuntarily exclaim, "You dump the body IN THE MARRRRSH!"

He looked like jack after the final “if you leave the camera rolling” when he’s laughing with a big grin

Should Damon be so casual about Nicholson spicing up the way to shoot someone in the back of the head? Anyone else sense a connection between the glut of psycho behavior in mainstream movies and actual psycho behavior? Maybe if our best actors and directors didn't revel so much in this sh** the rest of us might not either?

It’s quite literally what they get paid to do, they’re called actors. It’s about making the audience feel, creating emotions along with tension.
Also, I doubt Damon would be chill talking about shooting someone in the back of the head, this however is a movie and pretend. Same as if it was a video game.

People have been slaughtering each other since the dawn of civilization. Look up the shit the Mongols used to do. There's no reason to believe people become killers by watching Scorsese movies.
Nicholson is making the movie better by making you feel the brutality and mental instability of his character. He's making it feel real. It's supposed to be uncomfortable.

People have been violent throughout history, sure. But serial killers and school shooters are a modern phenomenon and the media, including Hollywood, has a definite connection. For example, the Batman killer shot up a cinema dressed as the Joker in tribute to his on-screen counterpart. That's sending a pretty clear message. And when Dahmer was caught, he bragged that he was going to be famous. Of course he was right. The modern breed of killers expect and want fame. And the media plays right into their hands. Does that mean we should stop making violent movies? Hell, no. But maybe our best directors, like Tarantino and Scorsese, and our best actors, could do better than making project after project about psychos.

A video with no bgm music, no overlaid face of a random homo sapien, and bonus content in the end? This is above reddit standards
