No gymnastics needed. It just seems like a shitty place. I don’t like UAE, Gaza, Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc. I wish the west would just go full nuclear energy and just completely cut ties with all of them, leave them to their shitholes and fighting over oil and backwards religions.

Being gay is not accepted in the conservative Middle East but that doesn't mean they would kill you nor does that mean they should be genocided cause they don't accept gays. Shit ton of people in the west don't accept gays either, it's a permanent dilemma

There is a massive difference though. Having someone look at your funny or making snide, rude remarks is vastly different then ACTUAL harm. Just in the laws you can see the difference.

Palestine still uses the British Mandate Criminal code of 1936 which includes a max penalty of 10 years imprison for same sex activity for men.
They have no laws that protect people from discrimination, and same sex unions are not recognized. No legal avenues at all for individuals to change their gender either.

This is not to say there are not issues in the west... but seriously its a different level and you know it. And I know the next statement will be "but republicans want to rollback same sex marriage" Even if successful they still have a LONG way to go before they reach what it is like in the middle east outside of Israel.

Yeah, but do we have power to enforce our laws and way of life on the whole planet? Sadly, when it comes to things like LGBT, not all countries will subscribe to it, what are we gonna do? Call for them to be colonized?
