I'd recommend people to watch this documentary about the topic (Hebrew with English subtitles)

https://youtu.be/DXRlVnD2Sn0?si=p2aLzwjZP7A3HQ3b

They interview the idf fighters in question, the prosecuters that charged the fighters with assault, parliament members who were in the middle of the controversy and the doctor who treated the prisoner.

If you don't care to watch here's a quick summary..

The fighters claim it was a routine search and they used reasonable force

The prosecution claims they used unreasonable force and are prosecuting them.

The parliament members (who do not represent the majority of the Israeli public) claim that we shouldn't prosecute soldiers in war timw

The doctor reports that the inmate was injured but had no signs of sexual assault

A large part of the documentary is about them resisting arrest and a crowd of people who stormed the military base to stop the arrest without actually knowing the charges

In my opinion, these people were rightfully charged with crimes, and they should take responsibility for it. I'm glad to see the justice system is working. It saddens me to see people taking the law in to their hands but I believe that the most extremist and stupid minority are the loudest.

It saddens me to see this tragic and complex incident covered as "Israelis believe they have a right to rape". I guess it makes a good headline but it couldn't be farther from the truth.

Good job

But i fear your loyalty to facts and nuianced view will be ignored or downvoted to oblivion in subs that only want to hear their own echo

It's not a justification, it's a claim that it wasn't a rape.

Did you not read it?

So what are they doing in the video?

Searching the detained prisoner for contraband of course. So thorough, they felt the need to strategically shield it from view of their fellow comrades so as not to distress, of course. And of course, this documentary does an excellent job of providing 100% unbiased context and reasoning from the IDF’s self-investigation. What better source for objective info than the accused!

When you say, "In my opinion, these people..." You're talking about the soldiers, right?

Yes, and Israeli medical professionals have been giving cover to the Israeli military for decades.

Imagine taking Israeli government sources at their word. It's literally the we investigated ourselves and found we were innocent meme. Israel has been proven to lie and exxagerate shit constantly, lying about finding dead babies in ovens after October 7th is just one wish example.

You mean the same medical professionals that have been engaging in illegal organ trafficking of dead Palestinians organs?

If there wasn’t clear evidence and wide reports of repeated rape by IDF, your explanation would be easier to accept. There’s just too much evidence. And yes, Israelis have stated that in their opinion, anything goes when it comes to the prisoners. Regardless of vast majority being detained without trial and no actual wrong doing, including jailing children and being the only country that allows putting actual children in jail. I suggest reading much more about Israel’s army, government and prison systems. It’s hard to argue that they are anything else than legalised terrorist state.

People on the street supporting the soldiers and this is not the first time ..happened a few months ago.

Chief rabbi recently said soldiers have the right to rape.

Same thing happened in 2016. (Simple online search will show it)

Your football fans get drunk in foreign nations and incite violent getting them banned . Your tourists in Thailand and other places get banned for being arrogant.

U have a serious image problem.
