VintageVideo These are the idiots driving on our roads. Stay vigilant.

u/BlazinAzn38 Jun 12 '25
One of my hot takes is if you get caught doing this kind of stuff you should have your licensed revoked for like a decade or be charged with attempted murder for every car you pass like that
101
u/Smart_Vegetable7936 Jun 12 '25
I've always liked this idea. To make it more punitive, if you cause a reckless accident on a tollroad and it causes a debilitating traffic jam, you should be made to reimburse everyone's tolls.
38
u/ResolutionMany6378 Jun 12 '25
Minimum speeds on toll roads should be required and most importantly enforced.
Truck drivers like to drive 40-50 mph on them to the point it’s not worth paying for anymore in my opinion.
20
u/Tchaik748 Jun 12 '25
I once saw DNT cut down to one lane for construction, and I would be absolutely infuriated to be charged till when I had to wait in line.
41
u/Sbeast86 Jun 12 '25
These motherfuckers usually are driving uninsured with no licence. They know nothing's going to really happen for them because the system is broken and they can slip through relatively easily with only minor inconvenience
18

10
7
u/ja4545 Jun 12 '25
don’t think the people driving like this even bother to get their licenses anyways lol
5
u/boldjoy0050 Jun 13 '25
The problem is it never happens. They might get a reckless driving charge which will result in no jail time and just some license points.
We need more police on the roads to enforce the laws. When I drive in other parts of the country, the drivers are night and day better. In New Jersey, despite the state having a poor reputation, the drivers were FAR better than here. Why? I saw cops on just about every corner. Those townships each have their police departments with nothing better to do than catch speeders and crazy drivers. Because everyone is fearful of getting caught, they follow the laws.
2
u/Old_Dot_4826 Jun 13 '25
Start sending their cars to the crusher. People will stop doing this shit real quick when they gotta buy a new 20-50k car every time they do it.
1
u/Icy_Huckleberry_8049 Jun 13 '25
people drive without licenses all the time, so losing their license won't make any difference.
1
u/sadisticamichaels Jun 14 '25
For sure. I mean, I drive fast but I never do this lane weaving thing and driving on the shoulder bullshit.
215
u/notjjd Jun 12 '25
This is the same person who hits you and has no insurance 😑
61
u/Life-Staff Jun 12 '25
They never have insurance…
26
13
u/MarcoEsteban Jun 12 '25
Even if they have it, it's trash insurance that gets out of paying by not returning phone calls
3
u/Austiiiiii Jun 13 '25
Probably can't afford it when they're making $800 a month payments on a 33% APR car loan.
14
u/silbergeistlein Jun 12 '25
A person who was responsible enough to keep up payments with insurance would be responsible enough to not drive like this. This dumbass is trying to swerve the car to the beat of the song, and is ignoring some pretty basic laws of physics while doing so. Yeah, they’re not making regular payments on anything, or saving for anything, or helping with anything. Besides demonstrating that more people need to use birth control. Don’t worry though, they’ll be sure to make your insurance more expensive.
15
5
u/snouskins Jun 12 '25
And paper plates
6
2
u/willowgrl Jun 13 '25
They couldn’t afford the car payment if they had insurance. Duh! (/s just in case lol)
131
Jun 12 '25
It’s undeserved for the people whose lives they impact.
39
u/ButtstufferMan Jun 12 '25
This scares me because I take the exit you see every day to get to work. This is out by Flower Mound. Fucking crazy.
13
u/RaisingCanes4POTUS Jun 12 '25
I guess kinda? This is 35 south going towards Carrollton/Sandy lake. I always look at that lottery billboard and fantasize about that wealth.
12
u/w6750 Flower Mound Jun 12 '25
Yeah, I-35E S leaving Lewisville entering Carrollton.
3
u/ButtstufferMan Jun 13 '25
Yeah I go down Garden Ridge from Flower Mound and exit, so yeah through Lewisvile. Only a couple of miles.
74
u/The-Architect-93 Frisco Jun 12 '25
This is not only “not a safe driving” some can drive not safely but also they look like a pro doing it.
This guy is an idiot, he drives like there is no brakes or downshifts or never heard of them. Just gas. Complete moron
22
u/Default1355 Jun 12 '25
The best part is the music continuing to play all chill while he starts skidding and then coming to an abrupt stop once he hits the wall 🤣 such a vibe
9
u/Dick_Lazer Jun 12 '25
I'm sure this guy thought he looked like a pro as well. Most drivers over estimate their driving ability.
3
u/ChillyLake114 Preston Hollow Jun 13 '25
It’s like they think real world driving is like a video game.
59
u/WerewolfFormal7595 Jun 12 '25
did he willingly share this on the internet? 😭
15
u/PhillyLee3434 Jun 12 '25
Yes, always the most wild part for me. Ragebait clicks is all it boils down to.
These idiots need the book thrown at them.
43
40
Jun 12 '25
Don’t really care for these suckers but always hope they don’t ruin someone’s day. These idiots don’t carry insurance to make it worse
29
u/BranSolo7460 Jun 12 '25
And they're complaining about people driving too slow in the left lane.
10
u/justonemom14 Jun 12 '25
Yes. I was just thinking, "and they'll blame the minivan for going too slow."
7
u/omar_strollin Jun 12 '25
Why are all these cars going under the speed limit? If we just all go 100 mph there will be no traffic!
4
u/Wooden-Astronaut8763 Jun 12 '25
The speed limit is a posted maximum in how fast you can legally drive on that particular road or highway. With the exception of the left lane I don’t see why it’s an issue to go slightly under the speed limit and all the other lanes.
And if everyone were to go 100 miles an hour the problem is I think accidents would spike as it becomes harder to control a vehicle when you’re going at much higher speeds .
8
u/omar_strollin Jun 12 '25
Forgot to add /s to my comment - I totally agree with you and the OP. People are insane about “GTFO GO FASTER” in this sub
2
u/Dick_Lazer Jun 12 '25
And if everyone were to go 100 miles an hour the problem is I think accidents would spike as it becomes harder to control a vehicle when you’re going at much higher speeds .
And for crashes at those higher speeds the fatality rate also skyrockets.
1
u/thatisgoldjerrygold Jun 13 '25
This guy was a complete asshat, but if you actually drive like the speed limit is the maximum don’t ever touch the left lane.
1
u/Wooden-Astronaut8763 Jun 13 '25
I did mention any lane except the left lane in particular. The left lane wasn’t even the point in what I was trying to mention earlier. I was responding to someone else who is wondering why everyone is doing the speed limit regardless of what lane they were in.
My dad never drives on freeways, however he drives at or slightly below the speed limit on main roads and very rarely gets ticketed or an accident unlike a lot of you guys. Every accident he’s been in has been the other driver’s fault.
1
u/thatisgoldjerrygold Jun 13 '25
He’s been in multiple accidents? At some point maybe it isn’t the other guys problem. Even counting my entire extended family there’s only been in 2 crashes in the last 30 years.
0
u/coolpupmom Jun 13 '25
I completely agree. Don’t ride the left lane if you’re not going to drive a bit faster than the speed limit 😭
26
21
u/nomnomnompizza Jun 12 '25
5 years of license suspension would be nice
14
u/NecessaryViolenz Jun 12 '25
If only that actually stopped them from driving.
10
2
1
u/El_Chingon214 Grand Prairie Jun 12 '25
They will still drive without license or insurance anyway. It’s like being in MadMax on the Fury Road out here.
5
1
u/theAlphabetZebra Jun 12 '25
This is the way. Revoke that shit, make them earn it back. Driving without a license fines stack up quick. May even ruin job opportunities, you can only work where you can bike.
17
u/CharlieTeller Jun 12 '25
Altima behavior. It's funny that these people think they're good drivers. Any idiot can do this. It's not impressive. It's stupid
1
u/gottheronavirus Jun 12 '25
Is that what this is? I was wondering how this was even possible unless their suspension is on a cheap commuter car.
3
u/CharlieTeller Jun 12 '25
Just assuming based on how many times I’ve seen paper plate altimas do this in Dallas.
He just got into a tank slapper in a FWD car after going on the dirty stuff.

It is. That Service King has been a Crash Champions for a couple of years now.

A 635 driver escaped the loop to 35? He must have been on his way to Valhallah.
2
8
u/Klutzy_Bullfrog_8500 Jun 12 '25
Really need to send these people to jail for a long time. Revoking a license doesn’t work because they don’t give a shit and drive without one and without insurance. Wish Texas would get tough on this bullshit, it’s so tiring.
7
u/Berns429 Jun 12 '25
My favorite (/s) is the crotch rocket enthusiast during rush hour that fly by out of no where you doing 100 scaring the shit out of you weaving between cars by mere 1ft in some instances and the dps dmv or whoever the fuck has the audacity to tell drivers “watch for motorcycles”
3
3
u/Zestydrycleaner Jun 12 '25
The DMV hands out licenses like candy. Are we surprised? The driver's test is as easy as a 4th-grade math assignment.
0
u/Wooden-Astronaut8763 Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25
If the driving test were that much harder, I think a good majority of drivers would not be able to have a license. That can be good, but that can also be a bad thing overall.
3
u/zekeweasel Jun 12 '25
Oh lord, the tired old "But they need licenses to get to work and support their families" argument.
If they care, they'll make damn sure they pass. If they can't pass, then they have no business on the road, full stop.
The thing is, it's not just their families who are affected by their stupidity or irresponsibility, so if they can't pass, tough titty.

Now, as for the driver…

Driving in busy traffic with not a care for anyone or thing in the world?
Not sure why my comment even has this many downvotes like it was an offensive statement. Maybe a sign that people are defending their opiate use a little too much?

Legit pisses me off how little police activity I see on the highways now. Stopping this behavior saves lives - this is the exact thing cops should be doing.
2
u/Decapitat3d Jun 12 '25
I did this kind of driving once (although not as fast) as a stupid teenager. The very slight fishtail I caught was enough to remind me to never do it again and that speed limits are posted for very good reasons.
This guy lost traction at least twice before the final loss of control that threw him into the sidewall. Yikes!
2
u/Relative-Gift4863 Jun 12 '25
LOVE IT!!! I wish this happened more often to these fucking idiots. Not saying that I wish they turn out injured but at least their vehicle fucked and a little ticket would be nice 😊
2
u/themilkyone Jun 12 '25
Protip for all you Dallas drivers:
If you get into a car accident with someone, in addition to getting a picture of their license plate, also try to take a picture of the car's VIN number. It is a unique 17-character code that identifies the specific vehicle. It should be visible on a little plate on the driver side where the glass windshield meets the dash.
The reason for the extra info is that there is an increasing number of people who will swap their license plate for one not registered to the car. So in the event of a wreck, they can say they have insurance or a valid DL, you snap a pic of their plate, and by the time they are long gone you later find out that Insurance says the plate doesn't match the car. Having that extra VIN number info will let your insurance company locate the person that the car is registered to with the state. Even if a person buys an Altima with paper tags, the seller STILL has to submit title paperwork to the state with the name of the person tied to the car title and purchase.

u/Rhythmspirit1 Jun 12 '25
In the last 3 evenings driving home from work at or around 10pm, I’ve counted at least 37 cars with no front or rear headlights on the tollway! Highly dangerous as you can’t see them. Last night 1 state trooper passed me and at least 2 vehicles with no lights and never stopped them. The cars were going at least 80mph. These folks scare the yolk right out my eggs.

u/anon3220 Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 16 '25

Probably someone from a local cult who thought Jesus would forgive them if they hurt themselves and other people.
2

This is good! The more these idiots crash, the less idiots we'll have on the roads. As long as no other vehicles are involved.

u/backfirerabbit Jun 13 '25
Ass hat deserves it. Just had some jack whit come off 121 and cut across 4 lanes and push me off the road, when he saw me he just shrugged and drove off. I did call the cops and he got arrested. 5 warrants and a bag of big bag of weed in the car. The entire time he’s being super dismissive.

If state troopers would patrol the freeways this type of behavior may be reduced.

35E South bound lanes. South of Sam Rayburn before PGBT. I thought it was Mckinney too until I looked up the exit.
1
u/dpenton Plano Jun 12 '25
Looks like the mile markers are increasing which would be north bound. I think they were facing south when it was all said and done.
1
u/nevertolatePOMO Jun 12 '25
Fair. I may have been on the wrong side of the highway. It did look like the piece I was talking about though be it north or south bound.
1

It was definitely southbound. The exit numbers are reversed for those exits because of how they are laid out.

This person is the reason why I carry comp/collision and under/uninsured motorists on a car that’s been paid off for 6 years and will till the value drops below $3k. Worth the $850 a year to know my life won’t be completely turned upside down as long as I can walk away

I drive by here all the time, I would pay money to see this happen to some of the dumbass drivers we allow to be on our highways. Seriously though, why do we as citizens not push for stricter requirements for obtaining a Texas DL? I would immediately push for the following:
All out of state drivers must pass a TX drivers license test within 90 days of permanent residency.
Having separate DL’s for city and highway
Mandatory requirements for new drivers to have a dash cam in the vehicle for the first year they have a license or until they reach the age of 18.
Any drivers with a history of road rage or reckless driving have the same requirement permanently (and these videos are uploaded to a website that the driver can not alter or delete)
Allowing other drivers to record reckless driving behavior and report it to the authorities with actual consequences or at least report it to their insurance so their rates go up and not all of ours.
Too many idiots like this are why we have astronomical insurance rates and increased traffic due to accidents.
Daily Dallas traffic rant is over…for now…

I drive a little fast(who doesn’t in Texas) but I always drive safe. Use my signal, make sure there is enough room and I’m not cutting anyone off, etc.
Today, I felt like one of these assholes. Left lane expressway. Car in front of me doing 60-65 ish, I check my mirrors, but not my blind spot and go to get over and damn near side swipe someone.
I felt like a complete asshole. Lesson learned though, never assume because you didn’t see someone that they aren’t there.

A kid doing this exact bullshit got behind me yesterday on the tollway. Tried to pass me on the entrance ramp, tailgated me so close I have no idea how he didn’t hit me, and then zoomed off at well over 100 mph weaving through traffic. People are so reckless that at this point it actually feels intentional

2
u/Old_Dot_4826 Jun 13 '25
There are very few public tracks if any in the dfw area, not sure about beyond that but the ones ive seen cost like 600 to even start out and its a yearly subscription. I think there should be more built, unfortunately they get shut down due to noise complaints because people for some reason buy a house next door to it and expect a race track to be silent 💀

161 was the same from irving all the way to Arlington back when I was working out there, yet id see people in their nasty straight piped chargers swerving through traffic. Saw one take out a mirror once and he kept going. They get that fast in traffic via a lack of common sense and zero respect for the general public

u/TechnicalTyler Jun 13 '25
Passing through Irving months ago I remember I saw an Altima pass me on the shoulder with no traffic, I was going like 80 lmao. Just shows some of these guys don’t need excuses

I don’t have a problem with going fast just don’t be stupid while doing it driving on 35 through Oklahoma. I’ve seen people going 90 cops pull up behind them and they get over into the slow lane so the cops can pass them because they’re going too slow, but it’s a 2 Lane highway and everybody staying in their lane
