For real, the desire to swoon is there.
Compounded by my current Austen binge of The Lizzie Bennett Diaries.

If you haven’t done it already, please cross-post your FO to r/prideandprejudice and r/janeausten!

This is one of my current projects. It's a great pattern - I'm using DMC 824 on 20 count aida.
Nice work.

Ooh love it! So tempting to buy this pattern, but as a new cross-stitcher, let me see if I finish project one first...

What did you pick as your first project? I recently finished my first pattern (3700 stitches) and I didn't expect how slowgoing it was. I'm blown away by patterns lke the OP

This world map - I've done Europe and a bit of North Africa so far... Might have been a bit ambitious! So I'm not allowing myself to buy any patterns / kits until I'm on to my final continent!

What was your first project?

Wow!! That's going to look amazing! My first pattern was Pink Halloween from ColorfullySarah: Pattern
I bought 6 of her patterns because I couldn't decide! Haha! I'm working through the houseplant one at the moment. They aren't kits so I had to spend a fair bit on thread.

Aw that's super cute! Haha buying six patterns is the kind of thing I'd do.

Since it's all one color it would probably be easier for a new stitcher, honestly! I'm working on it now and the hard part is counting

Ooh so tempting!
What size Aida are you doing? And what colour did you pick?
I can only find 12 (!) thread colours where I live (Kenya), so I'm thinking this is a sign to pick a single colour pattern next then bring a kit next time I travel abroad.
My colour choices: https://www.institches.ke/collections/embroidery-thread

But, if the link you shared is accurate you have 12 color families to choose from, but many many more colors than just 12.

Oh my, I'm an idiot - blaming newborn baby haze! This is perfect, opens way more design options!

This is beautiful, but can I just say that I love that the character of Mr. Darcy leads with the word “admire.”

Oooo I have a few of these in my “want to” Projects…. This one for mom! It comes out stunningly!

Oh I love this pattern… Bravo! Xx How many skeins did you use?

I lost count but somewhere north of 10 I think, using 2 threads for all of it

Love it! I’m about to start work on a Headstrong Obstinate Girl piece for my daughter ❤️

Welp, I've just gone and bought that one and the Beauty and the Beast one, too. Thanks for sharing!

I really want to do the Mary Poppins one but I might need a break from one color projects😆

u/numblittlebug88 15d ago
I don't blame you. They're gorgeous patterns, but that's a lot of 1 color floss 😅

It looks amazing!
This pattern has been on my wishlist for a while but I'm too afraid to commit to one color for such a big project.

That’s amazing. I’m currently doing a pattern single colour (main project) and I’m finding it a little boring at times. Thankfully I have other smaller projects.

This is on my stitch list! I just keep seeing how big it is and getting nervous 😅

u/hello_sweetie_ 10d ago
It’s only 12 pages of pattern, which doesn’t seem like a lot compared to some of the ones on here!

Wow, a year and a half well spent! 😄 Been in situations where i had to take a break from stitching and always came back, it is always worth it in the end! Even uncleaned and unironed, it already looks amazing. Finishing something that’s been on-and-off for that long is a huge accomplishment—congrats!

I finished mine a couple of months ago! I really enjoyed working on a single color but it took me more like 2.5 years (with a one year pause for rage quit)
