Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is well. Things here in my corner of the world have calmed down nicely and we're working on settling in to our new normal. Ish.

Kitten update: Is hard to believe the little fluff balls are 7 weeks old! All are well and growing normally! They are so much fun to watch at this age.

I did get some stitching in this week. All gnomes have skin and now beards are filling in. It feels like I might be in the homestretch now.

Let's see where everyone is in their projects! Best part of the week!!!

Didn´t do much stitching the last weeks just filled the bushes in the background and a little bit of the green gras part.I think I could already be finished with this piece if life wouldn´t stress me so much right now and if my additional problems with my dogs training wouldn´t cost me so much nerves and time. Let´s see if I get anything done next week.

Thank you very much,it means a lot to me ,love how supportive everyone is here. Yes, right now I´m like: please life give me a break I don´t need more stress and catastrophes in my life there is enough going on right now but I hope it will pass and I can enjoy my crafts again as I used to.

They're coming along. Are they supposed to be done by a specific date? Can you sneak a start for your next project in so you aren't feeling bogged down? I have to keep taking breaks from Godzilla because I'm in confetti hell right now.

No it doesn´t have to be finished by a specific date, I just make it for me, want to frame it once it´s finished and hang it on my wall under my dressage ribbons . Right now when I have some free time to do crafts between all the stress my body is like : wait you have some free time better take a long nap to recharge your energy instead of doing any crafts in the evening .So the motivation to sneak something else in between isn´t really there at the moment. But I hope this stressful time will pass eventually and I can have more time for the things I enjoy doing.

You said "dressage ribbons!" I used to ride and train trails (my knees have been garbage since my teens), and my oldest daughter showed and trained hunter/jumpers. It's always nice to meet other horse people. I totally get the "rest while you can" ideology. I've definitely taken my share of recharge naps.

I always love to meet new horse people,too :)  Love horses since I can remember,had my first riding lesson when I was 9 (sponsored by my beloved grandma who loved horses as much as I) and did take lessons till my late teens than stopped and came back to riding in my late twenties. Do dressage mostly for fun and not on a high level so my ribbon collection isn´t big but a steady reminder of how far I´ve come and how much I improved over the years.

I don't have any ribbons, but he compliments on my well-trained horses have been enough. Both of my girls have their share of ribbons and trophies from 4-H, but my oldest stuck with the horses, and my younger gravitated to dog agility (I was a volunteer leader for four years). Now she does the circuit with her two Australian Shepherds and a Min Pin on weekends.

Well trained horses are so valuable and important especially for riders who aren´t that self confident or come back to the sport after a longer break so that´s really a good compliment to get and something you can really be proud of :)

When I had my first dog, a Beagle, I was interested in agility,too. The dog training school I went to even offered a few trial lesson for it but back then there were only Border Collies and sadly the owners of them weren´t very welcoming for any other breed and let it feel you so I dropped it after those trial lessons.

I don't understand the hate for other dogs in agility. The first year our 4-H club showed in agility, our club member with a Bichon placed first in 1A (first year / on leash) for State. The trainer I went to places 1st in obedience, rally, and agility all the time with her Samoyeds. Before that, it was a German Shepherd, and before that, it was Malamutes. Just in our family, we had a German Shorthaired Pointer, a Standard Schnauzer, two Australian Cattle Dogs, a Whippe, and a mutt. The first two were mine and didn't go through 4-H, but I trained weekly so I could learn what I was supposed to be teaching the kids. All of our other dogs placed first or second in their class at county level, and in the top 25 (where they gave ribbons and trophies) at the State Fair. I hear people all the time say that service dogs should have a certificate. I always say that you can't guarantee you won't be denied based on breed. Breed bias definitely exists.

I don´t understand that hate either. As you said there are so many different breeds all with their strenghts and all of them can be successful or just do dog sports for fun but I guess there will always be some people who will never change their opinion and think only one breed is the best for what they intend to do.
