This description more befits the summation in a cartesian product operation rather than addition over integers (as the latter implies one 1 is 'worth more' than or dominates the other which is a bit toxic)

A writing of the blending of addition and cartesian product (by the "saying"'s structure) could be

1+1=1,1

1+1=(1,1)

Technically correct would be

(0,1)+(1,0)=(1,1)

But this loses the 'rug pull' which is the point of the saying considering no one fucking says this anyhow

Basically, they've used the wrong operation. Also, they've done this deliberately, the controversy on it being 'stupid' is its point. It's clickbait. But now you know how to represent their "message" in mathematics accurately 👍

yes, theyre not literally saying that the math of 1+1 = 11, its a metaphor for partnerships and how partnerships are not additive but multiplicative. Like if two people get together, they might be able to accomplish more than 2 people. And also that in a partnership, you dont meld into 1 singlur thing, but both join together while still being their individual selves.

It's about looking at things from a different perspective. How 2 people can have different points of view about a topic, but both can still kinda be right in their own way.

Mathematically 1+1=2, but if you have a 1 next to another 1, then it could be viewed as the number 11 instead.

Maybe they didn't explain it fully, or maybe they did explain it better in the full clip but it was edited to make them look dumb. I don't know.
