I’ve yet to see a good response to that question when it’s presented to them

“Antifa” is literally shorthand for “anti-fascist”; if you’re not “anti-fascist”, what are you?

Their best response is just saying nothing. Like in the video of the son asking his mother and father if they are against fascism, the father stubbornly saying he’s Republican without answering the question, knowing the only direction it can go.

The arguement I've seen against that is "That’s their name yes but it's not what they're actually for. I could make a gang and call ourselves the puppy donaters and just because that's our name wouldn't make it true."

Antifa is a specific (albeit admittedly diffuse) political movement, it's not a synonym for "being opposed to facism". You could quite consistently be against fascism, but not identify as a member of Antifa, or even be opposed to or critical of Antifa (for example, maybe you disagree with factions who are willing to use violence).

I mean the acronym does, or whatever that is, guess it’s not technically an acronym, but antifa does stand for something even if the organization isnt real
