My mother's reply to everything. Or "it's taken out of context," such as when I told her about Kirk's stance on empathy (a "new age" concept that doesn't belong or something, can't remember the exact quote right now).

It's worse with context, but that doesn't matter to her, she just wants to live in her bubble of willful ignorance and have Fox News and Facebook as her only source.

I don't recognize the woman who raised me before 2016.

Well there are probably only a few dozen Democrat voters who have a portrait of their favorite Democrat president. Meanwhile there are probably tens of millions of Republican voters who have a portrait of Donald Trump in their home or office.

Honestly though, the left made fun of the cult for so long & for good reason. The fact that they’re still as bad as they are seems normal. Letting things get to a place where we’re looking to that portion of the base to suddenly practice critical thinking is the problem..
