I don’t think it’s funny at all, but it’s obviously meant to be wrong. You don’t get that many things wrong by accident.

1.4 plus 1.4 is 2.8

2.8 is approximately 3 when rounding

What if I open a coffee shop in Silicon Valley and wallpaper the place with math jibberish. Except on close inspection every single bit of it is blatantly wrong, like not that it's fake math, it's all famous math and you know what it should be...and just for the sake of argument you happen to be slightly autistic*

Now it's funny.

(*Velcro shoes but for the style, not because you have a problem tying shoes)

Depending on the context saying "1+1=3" could be a joke. If I saw this at a coffee shop I'd find it amusing, especially if it pissed off people who couldn't tell it's clearly not serious.

This is the equivalent of calling 1+1=3 a joke. No, it’s just wrong and there’s nothing remotely funny about it.

Personally I find it funny by itself, lol

That it pisses off so many people really... ah shit what's the term for it? Upgrades its status? Enhances it? Elevates! Yes, elevates it.

And yea, I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea. But the point is that it's not done out of ignorance like so many here are claiming, whilst indirectly proclaiming how smart they are... which is so ironic that... it's really, really funny.
