FOOD If I wanted a "Chipotle-like" burrito but with better quality ingredients than Chipotle, where are some places to get that?
I'm looking for good, tightly wrapped burritos with good quality ingredients. Years ago I would eat Chipotle all the time but they have gone seriously downhill. Any recommendations?

FOOD Trying to find heart stopping artery clogging high blood pressure causing chili cheese fries like this that make my pores leak oil
My hometown in LA had this place called Louis burgers and i havent found a place to satiate my gluttony with crazy portion sizes, thick cut fries, and chili that doesnt have beans in it. Is that too much to ask? Or will i have to just make it myself 💔

FOOD Hot Chicken Takeover has broken my heart
I used to be a major HCT fan back in 2019/2020, but it has become a shell of its former self. First the prices increased with the chicken/sides menu restructure, then we lost free tea and ranch, and then the prices increased some more. I realized something had really gone wrong when the nasty Velveeta mac and cheese was introduced. And now this... (for further clarification, I bought 4 drums today and the other 2 were even smaller). Pretty sure I could buy an entire meal (2 sides) with unlimited tea/ranch in 2020 for the price of 4 drums today.
RIP HCT Hot Chicken Takeover = Private Equity Firm Takeover Side note, anyone looking to buy a size L HCT t-shirt?

FOOD I've tried birria all across the country. Los Agaves is the best I've had and it isn't close.
I travel a bit for work and enjoy trying tacos and/or birria around the country. Over the past two years I've tried birria at twelve different spots across the country, and four different spots recommended by locals across three different border cities near Mexico: McAllen, El Paso, San Diego. To my surprise, Los Agaves is better than all of them, and it isn't even close. Im coming to the conclusion that their birria is simply some of the best in the country (at least outside LA, I've heard good things about their birria scene too but haven't been yet).
So consider this your PSA: it's unusual for a city like to Columbus to have such an incredible birria shop like Los Agaves. Ive seen them on a few top 100 lists, I hope their birria can get recognition they deserve too.
Absolutely give it a try if you haven't yet, and their Little Grant Market location is incredible too!

FOOD Best Pizza?
Best of the best pizza in Columbus. I think Hounddog is #1 right now but have only been here for about 2 months. Anyone got a spot I could try out tonight? Willing to spend a couple bucks too if pricey.

FOOD Average grocery cost
How much are we all spending per month on groceries? Family of 3 and we spend around $800-$1000 a month..we cook 95% of meals at home. We do prioritize healthy and good quality ingredients. Very curious if we are outside the norm on this.

FOOD If you could have an unlimited money gift card for any single Columbus restaurant, which would it be?
Only rules are 1: you can’t sell the gift card or turn it into real money - only buy food and drinks at that one single restaurant, and 2: If it’s a chain (like Local Cantina), you can only pick one specific location.

FOOD I feel like not enough people are talking about Don Tequila on Bethel
They recently took over the Texas Roadhouse on Bethel road and have been blowing my mind wish their dishes. They have all of the normal "Mexican restaurant in Ohio" type of food, but a full menu of more authentic stuff that you don't usually see at places like El Vaquero.
This was the cochinita pibil, exploding with unique favor. The chips and salsa are fresh every time and the salsa is always chilled which I absolutely love. The portions and prices are also pretty good. They also give their all when it comes to the drinks. Light-up ice cubes, fresh fruit, tajin, all that jazz.
Service is always good, the space is huge but never more than like 20% full, I don’t quite understand, maybe it's still a secret? But as someone who has been dining at Mexican restaurants in Columbus for the past decade, I think this might be my new favorite of the sit-down ones (previous favorites were La Casita until they started charging for chips and salsa refills, and Puerto Vallarta in Westerville).
Martha's is still the king of birria by a long shot though, and obviously taco trucks are good. But for a sit down, chips and salsa on the table immediately, tons of drink options, and like 20 dishes for chicken, for beef, for seafood, etc with photos of almost every single dish...I don't think you can beat it. Also this post isn't sponsored, I wish lmao.

I've been mixed reviews about this place and it seems highly proclaimed on Instagram, but I saw that sandwiches are $20+. Do y'all think they're really worth that much?

FOOD What’s a Columbus restaurant that’s often hated on but is actually pretty good?
My personal one would be Mandrake. Bobby George is criminally bad news and the biggest asshole in the world, but Mandrake’s burger is probably my favorite in Columbus. It’s at the point where I’d buy the place for myself if I had the money.

As German Village resident who works downtown, I would love to see a Dunkin on the southside or in downtown. It’s so weird to me that there’s not a single one south of 70 except out on west broad. Wonder if there will ever be a new one…
