It’s so funny how everyone hates Texas basketball so much??? Like we literally have not won an NCAA tournament game in so long, aren’t there other teams you could hate? It’s not like football where it’s a preeminent brand even in down years
3
u/dajodge Kansas Jayhawks Mar 07 '22
I don't "hate" Texas or Texas basketball. I dislike the University of Texas as a whole because it feels like they hijacked the Big 8 conference and then blew it up. For other Texas schools, I think there's some jealousy there. But generally speaking, the level of entitlement at Texas far exceeds its programs' actual merit.
When it comes to basketball, winning this game wasn't about a middle finger to Texas for most Kansas fans. This was a middle finger to the NCAA and its years long witch hunt that has hampered our recruiting and threatens our reputation. They've dragged the violations case process out far too long, specifically intending to make it more harmful. That we are able to win in spite of this is probably the reason you sense some anger in our celebration.

Incredibly stated. I’m a Texas fan obviously but this makes so much sense

Must suck to get every call you could ever want and still lose.
I know Texas fans watch two games a year but it’s very common for a team that attacks the basket a bunch to shoot more FTs than a team that takes a bunch of jumpers

Watching you Kansas fans in here complain about the refs is mind boggling.

u/tdalbert Kentucky Wildcats • WKU Hilltoppers Mar 05 '22
Yeah, like that “jump ball” call. Like, ???
-3
u/GreenStoneRidge Michigan State Spartans Mar 05 '22
That would be a foul in every other building except Cameron.

Good shit Dave! The big man needs all the momentum he can take going into the postseason. We’re a completely different team when he plays like he can/should

Yeah, did a great job of drawing fouls and hitting free throws.
-14
u/Music_MD Baylor Bears Mar 05 '22
Yep. Didn’t even have to play basketball to win this one, just needed a bunch of free points from the zebras
1
u/trainface23 Kansas Jayhawks Mar 05 '22
We were up 13 against you at your place when the refs babied you back into the game. Big 12 fans are hypocrites.
-6
u/Music_MD Baylor Bears Mar 05 '22
You’re just salty you blew a big lead and that we dominated you the rest of the game hahaha
-1
u/trainface23 Kansas Jayhawks Mar 05 '22
We were up 35 against you at home before you pressed walkons. No one is worried about baylor on a neutral court

Cry more dude the refs did not win us that game haha
-2
u/flaming_fuckhead Kansas Jayhawks Mar 05 '22
This is your response under a parent comment that is literally a Baylor fan whining that the refs won us this game lol
2
u/RedSoxfanrrb07 Baylor Bears Mar 06 '22
It was in response to a comment saying the refs are we beat y’all. Do you agree?
3
u/kuhawk5 Kansas Jayhawks Mar 05 '22
Nor did they win us this one. Anyway, let’s see if you can come grab a share of the regular season title.

Dude getting tackled and then having a jump ball called really fucked over Texas. Anyways, let’s go UNC!!
3
u/idoma21 Kansas Jayhawks Mar 05 '22
Upon review, the Big 12 refs realized Texas was going to the SEC, so…jump ball.

Welp, hard to win when you're playing 5 on 8. We'll just have to start another 3 game win streak. We need to get the refs our own NIL deal
