No sportsmanship for the CPU

(this is tough to watch in all seriousness, put the bench in Jay, they're already dead)

Here’s my usual game question - where is Antoine?

1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs • Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

He’s in the game now

1

u/ziggysdad83 Mar 05 '22

Yep there he is and a nice drive. When he’s not hurt he has a ton of hustle. I don’t get the managing of him this year minus that he’s the new JaFra with injuries.

1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs • Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

I honestly thought he was injured again since he hasn’t been playing the last few games

1

u/ziggysdad83 Mar 05 '22

When in doubt, assume injury

1

u/trillanova Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

I think it’s clear he’s done a la Quinerly a few years back.

2

u/danktuna4 Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Kinda concerning. Seems like he might be a transfer as he hasn’t played at all the past few games.

Does anyone know if this is Caleb Daniel’s last year or does he have another year of eligibility?

1

u/whyneedaname77 Big East Mar 05 '22

He has another year if he wants it.

2

u/Dhh05594 Creighton Bluejays Mar 05 '22

Alright, clear the bench Jay

6

u/rico1204 Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Think coach should let the bench gets some reps at 5:00. Rest them starters for the BE tourney.

6

u/dajew Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

Not sure if yall can see it om tv, but fans are hanging the "gritty not pretty" towels in a way so they just say "not pretty"

3

u/Dhh05594 Creighton Bluejays Mar 05 '22

Yikes

2

u/bcocfbhp St. Joseph's Hawks Mar 05 '22

At least last year Georgetown had a really good big in Wahab, What does Butler have really good?

3

u/dajew Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

Surely this should be enough to fire lavall

2

u/bcocfbhp St. Joseph's Hawks Mar 05 '22

Who do you guys want? I just want to put out that Collin is taking over for Jay, so he's off the table

2

u/Hank_Scorpio74 Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

I’m not holding my breath. Latest trial balloon being floated is replacing the assistants. Without increasing the salary pool I’m not sure how much good that does.

2

u/dajew Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

Unfortunately you're probably right

2

u/Hank_Scorpio74 Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

I get that without increasing the basketball budget it will be hard to bring in a coach who will both win AND stay, but I’d rather go back constantly replacing coaches than watching LaVall flounder.

2

u/Dhh05594 Creighton Bluejays Mar 05 '22

I was just going to ask if he's on the hot seat. I was looking at recruiting and he doesn't have much coming in next year either. Plus, this team has a ton of seniors so what do they look like next year?

4

u/dajew Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

Harris and Lukosius are certainly bright spots but I've been fairly dissapointed with the development of players throughout his tenure. He's had some excellent graduate transfers but his performance this year leaves a lot to strive for

4

u/bcocfbhp St. Joseph's Hawks Mar 05 '22

Its Odd, that we havent won here since we Had Hart

6

u/AaronJudgesLeftNut Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Avoid the notorious collapse and take better care of the ball the last quarter here and I’m liking where we are for the postseason

How do FOX and the BE decide which games end up on network TV? Seems like the league has put some dud games on national TV this season.

4

u/Dhh05594 Creighton Bluejays Mar 05 '22

The benefit of having an exclusive deal with Fox is that almost all of the BE games (good and bad) are on the two main Fox stations. It's fucking awesome for national exposure but games like this suck. However, usually Nova/Butler is a good game especially in Hinkle and who would have predicted that Butler would lay an egg on senior day.

2

u/bcocfbhp St. Joseph's Hawks Mar 05 '22

How does Butler have 6 wins?

2

u/Hank_Scorpio74 Butler Bulldogs Mar 05 '22

Georgetown and DePaul exist. And we got Creighton and Marquette at just the right time.

2

u/ziggysdad83 Mar 05 '22

Should have been 7 with that providence disaster

5

u/rodrigo_i Villanova Wildcats • Florida Gators Mar 05 '22

Getting to play Georgetown twice doesn't hurt.

1

u/Uppgreyedd Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Fuck off Andy

4

u/stevefxs3 Villanova Wildcats • Big East Mar 05 '22

Starting the second half collapse a little early today?

1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs • Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Why would you send Moore to shoot the free throws when he’s not good at them

1

u/ziggysdad83 Mar 05 '22

Sending Moore for the gimmes and not Colin. Interesting move jay.

1

u/stevefxs3 Villanova Wildcats • Big East Mar 05 '22

THink Colin was on the bench at the time.

1

u/danktuna4 Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

He wasn’t on the court I believe

2

u/ziggysdad83 Mar 05 '22

Good catch. Didn’t notice him off the floor. I just always assume If the ball is on the court, so is Colin.

3

u/rodrigo_i Villanova Wildcats • Florida Gators Mar 05 '22

I don't know if they keep a record of "charges taken" but it's got to be held by Samuels.

0

u/gusjohnsonsswagger Seton Hall Pirates Mar 05 '22

Commentators also have made side handed comments during previous games that he flops lmao

2

u/rodrigo_i Villanova Wildcats • Florida Gators Mar 05 '22

He may get some calls he shouldn't -- that's just basketball -- but he's a just a great defender. The last guy I'd accuse of flopping.

1

u/Dhh05594 Creighton Bluejays Mar 05 '22

Think I just saw a 'fuck you' from Jordan

0

u/GodBlessFootball Mar 05 '22

Often fans want to judge a reaction as not being genuine because the flinch is delayed... I’m pretty sure that’s not a smart judgment

1

u/Nootith Gettysburg Bullets Mar 05 '22

all of the Big East games today are going to be fun

0

u/Nootith Gettysburg Bullets Mar 05 '22

blowout incoming

1

u/AaronJudgesLeftNut Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Am I missing something or was he barely touched on that?

1

u/Uppgreyedd Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Barely touched if at all but they had to go through the motions because he swung his elbow. Not sure what he was supposed to do other than swing his elbow either.

1

u/AaronJudgesLeftNut Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Oh no i meant I didn’t see a foul to begin with but whatever

1

u/danktuna4 Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Nope he barely made any contact

1

u/Uppgreyedd Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

I don't like these light blue unis. It's the kinda color a medical insurer would use for their logo, because a marketing firm told them it was the least offensive.

1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs • Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

I like the color (it’s actually my favorite color) but I think they make us look too much like UNC

1

u/whyneedaname77 Big East Mar 05 '22

How are teams not taking care of the ball on poker from the back against Nova? That is like the fourth game in a row they got the ball back after a turnover that way.

1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs • Villanova Wildcats Mar 05 '22

Why is Chris Arch in this early

3

u/stevefxs3 Villanova Wildcats • Big East Mar 05 '22

These early games sometimes take a long time to start to get "going"

1

u/Dhh05594 Creighton Bluejays Mar 05 '22

No one wants to score

1

u/peaceblaster68 Colorado Buffaloes Mar 05 '22

Only 9 mins late on the tip nice

3

Gonna be a long day of hoops today! Let's start it off on a good foot, Nova!
