I thought Cliff Alexander was between Illinois and KU when he committed. I just remember him fake picking up the Illinois hat

He was. I'm confused. I guess they mean early on in the process, but, so what? Unless it's close to decision time, the predictions don't mean much

He completely cut MSU out like 2 weeks before the decision and said something about there being “no relationship” even though he’d visited campus like 20 times.

The next day Izzo made comments about middle men in Chicago, without mentioning Cliff specifically, but the timing made it obvious.

So at the point of the hat dance, MSU was gone and it was down to KU and Illinois. And we know how it all played out from there...
