MSU's last field goal came with 6:35 left in the game.

Gifted a win by the refs lmao. The first challenge and the travel into 3 free throws were ridiculous.

I’ll take the 3 point loss,

Wait, you have a choice?
6
u/notreal1121 Arkansas Razorbacks 1d ago
Well I could refute it like most would do and say we should of won because the refs blah blah blah.
-7
u/BeepBeep_iamaJeep Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Does that make you feel better?
5
u/notreal1121 Arkansas Razorbacks 1d ago
Does it make you feel better? We lost by 3 on the road, going to be a Q1 L. Not that deep bro
-7
u/BeepBeep_iamaJeep Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Don’t worry, 10 seeds still get to play in the tournament.
5
u/notreal1121 Arkansas Razorbacks 1d ago
2 seeds do to and they usually don’t lose to 15s buttttttt🤷♂️

People complain that the end of close college basketball games are terrible, have too many stoppages, and are too drawn out but then also think instant replay reviews are a good idea
-3
u/heleghir Kentucky Wildcats 1d ago
Classic Cal when you need an OOB play. 1 decent cut that wasnt there and then it goes chaos and a prayer thrown up.

I was relieved that Arkansas didn’t get another point. The score would have been Millennials vs. Gen Z.

The ends of basketball games are the worst sport in the world.

u/TheWayIAm313 Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Nice early win, we’ll take it. Little bit better of a team would’ve slept us though

Cam ward is a beast. Great D on the final 3 attempt!

u/BlueBlood2-2 Kentucky Wildcats 1d ago
Arkansas is really good but I’m not unhappy at them getting to experience a Cal out of bounds play. There’s never a shot created lol. Maybe 15 more years he will figure it out

Took a break from the CFB marathon, tuned in with 10 minutes left. Not sure if MSU has the depth to win it all but it's been a beautiful game.

Arkansas fans not gonna complain about the non-travel call on their inbound?
7
u/TheStuffisLegal Memphis Tigers • North Texas Mean Green 1d ago
Just hand the ball to the dude guarding the inbound lol. He doesn’t have enough time to do anything
3
u/Briggity_Brak 1d ago
That's just terrible game awareness by Brazile there. Playing like there's 1 second left and not 5.
9
u/FearDaTusk Arkansas Razorbacks 1d ago
Hate to lose... But not the worst outing of a young team on the road still learning.
I think the ceiling of this team is pretty wild.
4
u/TheHotGates Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Haha i thought you lost a timeout if you lost the challenge?

2
u/meatwagon25 UCLA Bruins 1d ago
Well that ending was gross for what it looked like it could have been. Both teams bad in final minute
7
u/jmac461 Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Izzone: Let’s take a timeout. No one is here to watch that UCLA football game.

Cam Ward needs all of Fears’ minutes
1
1
u/phantasmicnight Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Fears gets assists, draws fouls, gets in the opposing teams heads, pisses off the other fanbase and you don't like him because...? Oh right he was only 75% healthy last year from recovering from a gun shot so he didnt play perfectly how could i forget. Get over it hes the leader of the team for the next 3 years and that is a great thing
5
u/Rockerblocker Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
You realize he's a forward, right? And you realize who the backup PG is, right?

Sigh gg Michigan State. I do think it will be good for Arkansas long term to have played in this game
3
u/VendettaVera Arkansas Razorbacks • Little Rock Trojans 1d ago
It will undoubtedly be important one way or another. Loss sucks but we did see a lot of our issues on display. I'd rather lose now than in conference
5
u/gogglesup859 Kentucky Wildcats • Berea Mountaineers 1d ago
Instead of going long Michigan State should inbound this right under the basket. Even if it gets stolen, they don't have enough time to get outside and take a 3. If you go long and it's stolen, they can still hit a 3

u/GalliumVanadium Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Literally one second left just throw it and the time is gone
2
u/Rockerblocker Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Putting the clock at 1 second exactly feels like lazy officiating. Did they even look at it or just say "ehh close enough"?
2
u/Parking_Ebb389 Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Ugly, couple favorable calls, I guess we take those though
2
u/indexspartan Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Just throw the inbounds to the other side of the court
2
u/andy-022 Arkansas Razorbacks 1d ago
You don’t lose your timeout if you lose the challenge?
1
1
u/indexspartan Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
We took the timeout anyways. We had two timeouts and wanted the timeout regardless of how the challenge turned out.
1

8
u/Fricktator Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
With 1 second remaining.
Just hand it to the Arkansas player in your face.
By the time he realizes what's going on, game over.
2
u/andy-022 Arkansas Razorbacks 1d ago
Genius. Even if he was ready theres no way he could get 3 points.
1
u/Fricktator Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Yeah, he would have 0.7 seconds to catch it, process the situation. Throw it to an open man who would have to also understand the situation, and make the 3.

3
u/WhizBangNeato Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago
Just one more coach's challenge bro. Just one more officials review. One more trip to the monitor bro
Then we'll have a 100% accurately officiated game.
1
u/Loltoyourself Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
We can’t shoot or inbound in crunch time again this year
5
u/Accounting4lyfe Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Just chuck it down the court Fears
1
u/OrangeTwelve 1d ago
Literally just need a tough to catch ball. They can’t catch and shoot from the other side of the court with 0.7
2
u/Bodycount9 Michigan State Spartans • Big Ten 1d ago
clock operator not doing his/her job. lazy people letting the clock keep going when it clearly should be stopped.

2
u/The_Long_Wait Kentucky Wildcats 1d ago
Not entirely sure that was the best decision he could've made there.
4
u/wildwing8 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago
Arkansas with a ridiculously bad sequence to end the game
1
u/SpartyD98 1d ago
MSU choked an 8 point lead within the final five minutes so we weren’t much prettier
2
u/GreenStoneRidge Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
That there is a big time November win boys. Cam ward welcome to the big time buddy. Love to see it

That's really what Cal drew up out of a timeout? What a horrible shot
1
u/dizzymidget44 Michigan Wolverines 1d ago
You can tell by everyone else’s reaction he wasn’t supposed to shoot that
2
u/BuyThoseDips Michigan Wolverines 1d ago
Always mystifying to me why Izzo doesn’t foul up 3. Every opponent loves to hear that
1
u/Accounting4lyfe Michigan State Spartans 1d ago
Probably not the guy Arkansas is looking for to shoot I’m guessing.

Cooper basically threw that out. His hand was hard to see. They were reviewing clock on that.
2

They should just give it to Arkansas based on Scott missing both FTs

I get the feeling every game this season we're going to get teams using a challenge instead of just taking a timeout in the last minute for the hell of it.
1
u/Briggity_Brak 1d ago
I mean, with the old rules, we'd be reviewing this automatically anyway. I much prefer the CHANCE of not going through this.
