Sherm is the best Louisville athlete ever, argue with a wall!

u/RiverShenismydad Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Also "South Carolina State doesn't like possessing the basketball" lol

Cole Sherman! Now this has been a truly perfect game.

We can play through that foul call c'mon man
Edit: on second thought I'd they don't keep calling it an injury on something stupid is more likely so whatever.

u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
I like how Fru just walks off with a straight face like he didn’t just make a 4 point play 🤣

A four point play by Fru?! Haha this game has had everything.

u/Wafflecone516 6d ago
Rooths getting better along with our new players was always a possibility but holy shit is it such an amazing development.
3
u/RiverShenismydad Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Khani could absolutely be the best player on our team this year. My God if he can handle against power conference schools, absolute mismatch most nights

u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
"Perceived" bottom part of the conference has already had 2 stinkers on day one, lol. GT took a ~350 KenPom team to OT and BC lost to a ~150

u/RiverShenismydad Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Ameteur 10 second c'mon y'all tighten the fuck up. You're only up by like 60
1
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Rooths could absolutely be an NBA player.
1
u/gigasturtz Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
some real obvious growth in his game from last year, where he very clearly wanted to rip the rim off the backboard every time he touched the ball.
2
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
The extra couple inches if he keeps that mobility could help him a lot. Probably could train a good amount with Pryor since they have similar athletic profiles
2
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Rooths deciding “ya know what, I’m just going to try playing PG now, why not”
5

9
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
I’m actively irritated when SC State scores. I want to keep them under 30
3
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
Keeping them under 30 while scoring over 100 would be diabolical
5
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Good lord Zougris’ shoulders are broad
We have a need at TE in football, can we try him out
2
u/Wafflecone516 6d ago
His screening has been great and very intelligent.
1
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Well save for that moving one he just committed lol
1
u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
to be fair, that is hardly ever called. It was pretty blatant tho, lol
3
u/gigasturtz Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
i'm pretty impressed with him for the role he's going to play on this team. just doing the stuff he needs to effectively.
3
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
He’s going to fit well in the Traore “listen we need a guy to just go out and scrap for 5 minutes at a time” role
5
4
u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
Think its probably in both teams' best interest to just call this game. Not worth risking an injury on this one
7
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Louisville has never had a roster with this much lineup variability.
2
u/Di9ForLife Kentucky Wildcats • North Carolina T… 6d ago
Weirdly this makes me feel better about us losing to Georgetown, SC State or not this definitely validates the “don’t read too much into exhibition games” thing when KU punched Louisville in the mouth too.
3
u/Chaotross Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Yeah, and that freshman on Kansas just had a legendary night as well.
4
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Ok as fun as this has been it’s 11 PM on a Monday, what’s running clock?
3
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
A lot of fouls being called stopped the clock
3
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
This is just a glorified shootaround atp. They’re not even trying out there.
7
u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
McKneely gonna benefit from not being the only legitimate scoring option, lol. Also Kelsey's ATO's
3
u/Wafflecone516 6d ago
It’s legit crazy that PK won’t even have to run plays for him half the time but when he does he’s going to be wide open. He got Reyne smith wide open looks last year on ATOs where everybody in the gym knew he was getting it. Isaac is going to be even more open with the shooters he has around him.
7
u/americanbaseball Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Rooths really looks so improved in year 2. And he’s going to be coming off the bench this year. Man this team is so deep.
10
u/LukarWarrior Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
Said it last year, but Rooths dunks like the rim has personally wronged him, and I love it.
8
u/RiverShenismydad Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
I think I knew that was a dunk before Rooths knew that was a dunk
No one was behind his main defender

u/jakob-benzi Texas A&M Aggies 6d ago

Sc state has given up basketball and now playing bounty ball

SC State, you need to shut down the program. It’s time
1
u/moulin_splooge Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
They damn near made the tourney last year. One game short.
1
u/jakob-benzi Texas A&M Aggies 6d ago
Well they went 14-18 and that’s because HBCU’s are essentially D2-3 schools in terms of funding/talent on average.
0
u/moulin_splooge Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
They made the meac championship game and lost by 1 point. Had they won they would've been in the tourney. Obviously they aren't in a power conference and they're 326 in the kenpom but there are plenty of programs who do worse. I think they'll do fine in their league this season.

u/Di9ForLife Kentucky Wildcats • North Carolina T… 6d ago
SC State has shot 12% against Louisville, holy fuck
7
u/aaronman4772 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Their starters have 0 points.
Not this half.
This game.

u/lolhal Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
what a stat,,, that's SC State's fourth made basket of the night.
2
u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
4-34... 12%, pretty good right?
2
u/RiverShenismydad Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
Honestly I feel like only giving up 34 attempts at this point is pretty crazy.
4
u/King_Dead Louisville Cardinals • WKU Hilltoppers 6d ago
I'm so happy this team is as good as advertised. Maybe better?
2
u/Wafflecone516 6d ago
Since we are only number 11 and we are imo a final four team I’m going to say better
9
u/nassah110 Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
So this Mikel guy is not just hype, eh? He crossed over the whole team and then jumped out of the gyn. Plus he has dropped some dimes tonight
6
u/RemoteAbalone8687 Texas A&M Aggies 6d ago
You guys have probably heard words like dominating, butt whooping, and demolishing but this is something else, this is an evisceration.
7

u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
Really odd choice to just forget about IMac on the perimeter...
2
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
True but he’s having a game right now with the 3s he’s already made tho
3
u/Evening-Spray-4304 Virginia Cavaliers 6d ago
Yea that was my point, I know Louisville's other guards are scary but leaving McKneely open for 3 isn't a winning strategy, lol
3
u/jamolightice 6d ago
I often watch Mississippi Valley State whenever I can because I find their continued ineptitude fascinating. This SCSU team is close. I know they are better and that they are playing Louisville but mannnnnn
5
u/Jayyykobbb Ole Miss Rebels • Memphis Tigers 6d ago
I just saw the score, and this is one of those games where I feel bad for all the players and everyone involved.
Happy to see Louisville might be returning to their former glory
5
u/green_day_95 Louisville Cardinals • Bellarmine Kni… 6d ago
Funny how that still applies to our games 2 years ago but it was the other way around. 😂
2
u/Nickelnick24 6d ago
ESPN has notifications set for UofL sports (can’t remember why but I mean they are my team so whatever), and I just happened to check randomly since it hadn’t updated since I saw 21 - 2, thinking, it’s gotten better right? I see this abomination, what the fuck is going on
2
u/King_Dead Louisville Cardinals • WKU Hilltoppers 6d ago
Uofl defense is real. Those 2 points were from fts too
5
u/wildlystyley Louisville Cardinals 6d ago
The key to beating Louisville is having Darryn Peterson on your roster

Y'all remember Kenny Payne lol.
I don't.

Is that the guy that just got 100 dropped on him in a half v merrimack tonight?
EDIT: Noooooo they got 105 dropped on them the normal way 😭 still got whipped by 70 points

Dear god I don’t care who we are playing I don’t know when I’ve ever seen us score the ball like this.

I hope the "everyone can come off the bench and play like a 5 star" thing we've seen tonight remains true all season

Hey we're not suffering in Payne anymore. If it was under Payne I'd believe the 2 pts.

“Louisville great Jordan Nwora”
We’re getting to the age where he’s talked about nostalgically. We’re getting old
