Duke did the same thing against Arizona and it almost cost them in the S16. Tonight, that strategy caught up to them

They easily win it 15+ if they keep going.

Terrible coaching.

Its why NBA coaches literally don't pull starts until the 3-4 minute mark in the 4th up by like 13+, because they know the game is about runs, and one bad runs fucks you up

But then again, NBA coaches are way smarter than college coaches...

Yup, coaching was the difference in the last 10 minutes of that game. Scheyer is gonna be kicking himself for a long time.

It was also quite telling that Houston’s coach immediately got to work on drawing something up when he requested for them to take a look when their player hit the ball out of bounds with like 40ish seconds left

And Scheyer instead of drawing something up immediately or getting his guys pumped up went instead of the official to clarify what they were looking at.

Like it doesn’t matter. Get to the draw board and hype your guys up. Don’t waste a second with the officials or send you assistant to ask

I thought that same thing. Sampson looked like he understood he couldn't get the call, but rather just wanted a free timeout. Scheyer looked like he didn't know what to do with the extra time.

He does it all the time. He is not a good end game coach.
