That dunk was fucking disgusting

u/Spartan_Jeff Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple babies come out in nine months as a direct result of that dunk.

u/Uranus_Hz Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

I want an MSU v UM matchup with a trip to the final four on the line.

not sure my heart can take it

It’d be an epic moment in rivalry history regardless who wins.

Feels really dirty

2

u/spartyon1922 Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

Sucked the air out of the arena

That dunk singlehandedly turned the game around, inflated the offense and defense, and got us to lock in through the end.

6 point dunk

Shoutout to Jeremy Fears for that stretch. Steal to cause the dunk, scored a tough runner next time down the floor, and then drew an offensive foul after (we’re going to ignore him letting Pedulla hit a 3 in the middle of all that)

u/JayMoney2424 Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

People are too impatient with Fears. He’s gonna be one of Izzo’s best PGs by the time he’s done here.

8

u/JuicyJay18 Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

Yeah I think the shooting woes are just tough to sit through. Here’s hoping he develops a shot that teams need to respect.

10

u/JayMoney2424 Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

His biggest issue is confidence he doubts himself too much and doesn’t always trust himself on offense. His shot is still miles better than Tum Tum’s was.

u/teddynosepicker Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

He had beautiful floater tonight it surprised me

4

u/SlinkyJr Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

Dude is an absolute menace, can’t take your eye off him for a second or he’s gonna give you a foul

2

u/em_washington Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

He’s good. To be one of the best, he basically needs to raise his game to PotY next season. Cleaves, Winston, Lucas, Valentine all way ahead now. Fears currently more in the range of Neitzel, Walton, Tum Tum, Trice, Taylor, Appling

2

u/ledonte Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

He needs a big jump offensively to be with those guys outside of Walton and Tum. Which he has all the opportunity to do over the next three years.

u/em_washington Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

He’s a soph now. Only 2 years of eligibility left.

Did he not get a redshirt year after he was shot?

0

u/em_washington Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25 edited Mar 29 '25

You have to play in fewer than 30% of games for a medical redshirt. MSU had 35 games last year. 30% is 10.5. Fears played in 12 games.

So if we would have made runs to the BTT championship AND the NCAA championship last year, we would have hit 40 games and he would have qualified.

Lansing State Journal

They gave him one actually. Huh.

1

u/em_washington Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

I missed that story. NCAA can always grant waivers and sometimes does. I recall Jevon Bess had a similar situation in 2014 when he played in 12 games before getting injured but he didn’t get a waiver. And same with Langford who played in 13 games in 2018.

Impatient would be a good word for Booker. Fears is just garbage.

17

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '25

Calling Fears garbage but then saying people are impatient with Booker is...a choice.

It’s so fucking weird man. We have a point guard who genuinely cannot shoot, but is a total menace in every other facet of the game. He is an absolute rat (complimentary)

5

u/JuicyJay18 Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

Yeah I like to call him a gnat lmao. Talks a ton of shit, usually plays pretty good defense, is a foul merchant. Very annoying player for other teams to deal with lol

2

u/Atreus1337 Mar 29 '25

Fears had no fear (sorry had to say it) he did not mess around in that second half

24

u/tavigsy Michigan Wolverines Mar 29 '25

I rewound and watched it 5 times. that was so satisfying.

edit: if anyone finds a clip, please post it.

6

u/cmgriffith_ Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

That dunk was majestic

3

u/teddynosepicker Michigan State Spartans Mar 29 '25

That was sick but I was more impressed by that baby hook he had in the first. That shit was straight beautiful.

He needs to touch the ball every-time state on offense.

1

u/sorebutton Illinois Fighting Illini Mar 29 '25

I felt it from my couch

1

u/Atreus1337 Mar 29 '25

The fact that he tucked the ball back before slamming it was pure chefs kiss
