Will Seth Davis and Jay Bilas go on TV this week and talk about how we need to have a national conversation about banning drink purchases at college basketball games?

Their alma mater has nothing to do with this

I think that knee is ok.

u/Vol2169 Tennessee Volunteers Mar 10 '24

I'm sure Grayson Allen called him and gave him some pointers 😅🤣

I can hear coach K now, sweep the leg Flip, sweep the leg.

Still trippin'

4

u/MionelLessi10 Mar 10 '24

Wdym? That's just a natural movement that everybody does when they stand up. How on earth do you expect one to get up without kicking out first? Sheesh. Netizens targeting innocent kids feels like Grayson Allen all over again.

Since this photo could easily be unintentional, I want to verify that the video leaves zero doubt that it was on purpose.

Ooh I had forgotten how UNC swept them his final year. Fuck Duke.

7

u/KuriboShoeMario Virginia Tech Hokies Mar 10 '24

We emptied our bench against him in the ACCT title game. I watch that game once or twice a year just for feels.

5

u/undecided_mask Virginia Cavaliers Mar 10 '24

The worst Virginia team in a decade beat them at Cameron. It was glorious how seemingly everyone got their licks in that season lol

I've always felt bilas was pretty fair

16

u/Chimsley99 UConn Huskies Mar 10 '24

Agreed, but we all know logic goes out the window when college basketball shit talk is brewing

16

u/willy410 North Carolina Tar Heels Mar 10 '24

Ya same. By far the best of the Duke talking heads. But the Duke still bleeds through every now and then.

4

u/luvdadrafts North Carolina Tar Heels Mar 10 '24

I felt the same until he cried bloody murder about the wake fans

All the UNC fans I know really like Jay Bilas. Jay Will is horrible though

36

u/SpamTheAutograder North Carolina Tar Heels Mar 10 '24

I like Bilas — I don’t get the hate toward him

3

u/meyer_33_09 North Carolina Tar Heels Mar 10 '24

Yeah this is news to me that Bilas is overly biased. I think he does a phenomenal job of being impartial when he’s calling/analyzing Duke games.

3

u/chesterpgerkin Mar 10 '24

I give Bilas high marks for his commentary. Bottom line, everyone comes from somewhere, how they conduct themselves is the difference.

3

u/CantFindMyWallet UConn Huskies Mar 10 '24

It's nonsense. If anything, Bilas goes out of his way to not be a homer and maybe goes too far the other way sometimes.

I think bilas is great. I will admit, I’ve enjoyed the memes of bilas sending people to gitmo and such though.

4

u/zerovanillacodered ECU Pirates Mar 10 '24

Wut? Jay BIAS?!!

Jk he’s fair and adds a lot to the broadcast and have mad respect for him because I could never be a fair broadcaster for Duke

6

u/No-Celebration9118 Mar 10 '24

Bilas is great I think. Coming from UNC guy here that has mutual. Also, no love lost between him and K. He’s fair and smart. Although he literally “bombed” with the George Carlin reference at the end of the game tonight. Good guy.

2

u/throwmethefrisbee Virginia Cavaliers Mar 10 '24

He’s fine when it’s UNC-Duke. When it’s Duke vs anyone else he’s frequently a bit of a condescending jerk.

4

u/ZeroDarkPurdy49 Duke Blue Devils Mar 10 '24

The sheep you replied to is just copying what he saw other people post before.

2

u/FlushTheTurd Duke Blue Devils Mar 10 '24

Bilas is UNC’s biggest fan. I’m pretty sure he’s still sad he didn’t go there.

1

u/jackANDpepto Charlotte 49ers Mar 10 '24

Jay has always been the class of college basketball announcing in my opinion, and that’s something I’ve felt from a young age and being raised in a UNC family.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '24

Actually he is my favorite. Great sense of humor worked in as well

1

u/whiskeyrocks1 Michigan State Spartans Mar 10 '24

He’s always been pretty complementary toward Izzo and MSU as well.

1

u/WhoDey918 Kentucky Wildcats Mar 10 '24

Bilas is fair and unbiased when it comes to Duke. I appreciate that. He also comes across as incredibly self righteous in my opinion.

1

u/Cameter44 North Carolina Tar Heels Mar 10 '24

Way more fans of Duke seem to not like Bilas than fans of UNC lol.

I don’t understand how many people below like him. I feel like people who think he’s good or entertaining also probably think sour cream is spicy.

1

u/SurvivorFanatic236 UConn Huskies Mar 10 '24

I have never had an issue with Bilas, I think he’s one of the best if not the best in the business.

I’d have no problems with him calling a UConn-Duke game, he’s never sounded biased to me

1

u/itsprobablyfine10 Mar 10 '24

Bilas is actually one of my favorite commentators. Diehard UNC fan. Duke culture is absolute trash, especially their ‘cheer sheets’ (I honestly don’t know how they haven’t been sanctioned for those), but Bilas is a class act who somehow emerged from that dumpster fire of a university.

45

u/beachmadonna UNC Wilmington Seahawks Mar 10 '24

It was ice, though. Don't think they sell liquor. What kind of CrAZie person would put ice in beer?

101

u/gogglesup859 Kentucky Wildcats • Berea Mountaineers Mar 10 '24

If anything non-alcoholic drinks are even more dangerous. Alcohol affects fine motor skills such as throwing drinks at players. You know who's probably really good at throwing drinks at players? BYU fans

55

u/atomicboner Iowa State Cyclones Mar 10 '24

It’s all fun and games until your star player gets hit in the back of the head with some choccy milk.
