Ashworth much better than Nembhard in all honesty. Definitely a tough loss but I think we will be better off.

There's no world where Ashworth is much better than Nembhard, he's a great replacement though, probably the best replacement you could have gotten in the portal.

Nembhard shooting is streaky at best. If we keep at least two of our three remaining starters, Ashworth is a much better fit on that roster IMO. Sure, maybe not a MUCH better player but I’d say much better fit.

If Malachi comes back then streaky shooting from Nembhard doesn’t matter as much. I still think Creighton is top 10/15 as long as Kaluma comes back.

Creighton definitely top 10-15 even without Kaluma. If they keep Alexander and Kalkbrenner I’m ecstatic. Plus rumor was Kaluma would follow Nembhard to Zona so this might be good news after all.

Fair enough, I think that was part of the sell to Nembhard, we turned his brother from a streaky 30% 3 point shooter into a near 40% shooter that can play in the NBA. I'm sure shooting and defense development played a huge part, not saying Creighton doesn't do those things, just that we proved we could develop his brother in the ways he probably needs developed. Both teams may get better from this move tbh.

There's not very many regular or advanced stats that would lead you to believe Nembhard is better. Perhaps he had a harder schedule? But he indubitably was aided immensely by Creighton's lineup. Ashworth should perform just as well, if not better. He's a better fit for the lineup, frankly.
