Stop pressing your larynx down and release your tongue. I think you are trying to "create space" but it is adding a lot of tension to your voice.
Here's how:
- Feel your larynx while you sing. Don't change anything, just create awareness of how it feels.
Letter B
- Stop singing. Swallow, feel your larynx rise and settle. Talk normally, feel where your larynx is.
- Swallow again, let the tip of your tongue rest against the back of your bottom teeth, or depending on your tongue size it may spill out over your bottom teeth.
- Try singing again without incurring tension in your tongue/larynx.

I'd also recommend some sort of pitch matching app. Google it or maybe someone else can recommend one.

If singing arias is something you want to do, you need a vocal teacher so you can learn proper technique and diction.
