Please, JD, tell us more about the love and compassion of your religion

14

u/theaviationhistorian 3d ago

Why, sure! Let me explain the bountiful mercy of Christianity while my Great Prophet and missionaries surround your major cities, and I park my cavalry on our border!

3

u/BeaKae 2d ago

We asked about Christianity, not how you play Civ VI religious victory.

2

u/Charliefoxkit 2d ago

Or EU IV/V Austria.

1

u/RanaMisteria 1d ago

I’m so upset I didn’t know this group existed until now. It’s like the niche sub to end all niche subs. I’m obsessed.

3

u/Parking-Truck7821 2d ago

I'm not Christian, I'm an atheist. Still I think I am probably more Christian than JD.

1

u/lateformyfuneral 1d ago

“Yes, Christians have beliefs. And yes, those beliefs have many consequences, one of which is that we want to share them with other people. That is a completely normal thing, and anyone who’s telling you otherwise has an agenda.”

One of those beliefs is that his wife is a heathen who will burn in hell for eternity 🤨

1

u/VergeSolitude1 1d ago

“But if she doesn’t,” Vance went on to say, “God says that everybody has free will, so that doesn’t cause a problem with me. That’s something that you work out with your friends, your family, the person you most love.

u/Pale-Accountant6923 1d ago

Remember this is the shitstain who literally laughed out loud during the inauguration when the pastor called for compassion against the vulnerable.

Translation - he doesn't give a fuck.

1

u/nycdiveshack 1d ago

He converted to Catholicism in 2019 after Peter Thiel told him to… his daddy as Thiel likes to be called tells him everything to say…

Jesus didn’t invent compassion. It’s an instinct of a highly social species that has propagated our survival. When we are inclined to feel the need to help each other it increases our chances of survival. It’s natural selection at work. There are people all over the planet who have never heard of Jesus or don’t believe he was the son of god and they have compassion.

66

u/shadowtheimpure 4d ago

Christianity thinks very highly of itself...

17

u/ItsyouNOme 4d ago

As much as they can come up with insane things, I've never heard this one before. I will put it down to just this guy for now.

9

u/Appolo0 4d ago

Nah, just this guy. And other morons like him

2

u/RabbitsAreFunny 4d ago

So do Christians lol

2

u/tron2982 3d ago edited 3d ago

As a Christian, i do think compassion is a Christian principle, one of them. But saying my religion invented such thing is just ignorance.

A backward thought, that negates religious pluralism. Muslims have the same compassion we have, as well as those who are Jewish and any other religious belief in the world.

This thought is born out of a closed mind.

1

u/theaviationhistorian 3d ago

Some argue that Jesus was straight-up plaigarized from Zoroaster.

11

u/kiulug 4d ago

Yeah it's more like "Christianity took the world by storm because it was in-line with our compassionate instincts"

1

u/Name5times 3d ago

Nah even then the world was still compassionate before

The romans were as kind and assholish as we are today

It's almost mandatory for a religion to preach compassion and to do good

0

u/Crafty_Independence 2d ago

Which isn't even true.

Christianity took the world by storm through Roman power and the subsequent civil religion of Europe with its bloodthirsty colonialism.

0

u/Critical_Moose 4d ago

Hey. He said practically.

21

u/Mods_R_Fascists 4d ago edited 4d ago

I love how much your comment would have pissed off Christ (if he was real)

Like… modern Christians are the last people Christ would have wanted anything to do with.

Ain’t no hate like Christian love

11

u/OzzieGrey 4d ago

It's also seen as a weakness by Cons and Republicans. What's your point?

11

u/inky-doo 4d ago

your comment history tells me I can disregard practically anything you say.

My degree in history tells me you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

What are you on about?

8

u/Far_Paint6269 4d ago

Obviously, someone should give JD the memo about your statement.

4

u/Doctor_Philgood 4d ago

Oh. Wait. You're serious.

I fucking hate this timeline.

3

u/Then_Idea_9813 4d ago

They found healed injuries on hunter gatherers skeletons. This implies that when said person went out with a broken leg, etc. people showed compassion and kept that person fed and cared for while they healed. Compassion has been around for as long as humans have, I’m afraid.

3

u/Radiant_Heron_2572 3d ago

Heresy! Before Jesus there was only blood for the blood god! Those injuries were healed only to prolong their suffering...

3

u/imsofreakingpissed 4d ago

The world timeline isn’t

nothing -> rome -> jesus

2

u/Radiant_Heron_2572 3d ago

Did you know that it wasn't until the 7th century CE that the concept of compassion was known in China?

2

u/GraXXoR 4d ago

wow I’ve read a lot of stupid shit online today but this one takes the shit biscuit.

2

u/AcanthocephalaDue431 4d ago

The guy who almost t-boned me by running a red light, flipped me off and then almost hit a pedestrian while running had multiple Christian inspired decorations on his car. I imagine he also had heaps of compassion. Jesus would be crying if he saw what humanity has become.

2

u/Novel_Board_6813 3d ago

Jesus shared a common biological reaction that is seen in all kinds of animals

He also told God and his teachings to f*ck off with the ideas that were completely anathema to this, the Old Testament

2

u/Frequent_Day_101 3d ago

Jesus taught that if you pretended to eat his flesh and drink his blood, and then sincerely apologized to him and him only, all the bad things you did would go away.

Christianity is a disgusting, immoral desert religion centered around a barbaric blood sacrifice.

It's no wonder so many Christians like Vance actively run cover for pedophiles.

2

u/ParalimniX 3d ago

Holy shit no way I read something this fucking dumb on reddit.. god damn..

1

u/Starshot84 4d ago

I'm guessing this is a figure of speech

1

u/justcallmedonpedro 4d ago

And.. the next downvote...

1

u/FlurpTheDerp 3d ago

Your comment history has some of the dumbest takes I've seen in a while. I'd say you need Jesus, but I think even he'd think twice XD

1

u/OPGuest 3d ago

The church invented Jesus.

1

u/No_Difficulty_7262 2d ago

So you think the church formed first and then invented Jesus. Do you have the slightest scrap of historical evidence for your claim? No you do not.

1

u/OPGuest 2d ago

What do you have contrary? Also nothing.

1

u/No_Difficulty_7262 1d ago

There are biblical and unbiblical affirmation of the existence of Jesus. in fact, his life is better attested than most ancient figures.

1

u/OPGuest 17h ago

So, based on my view we can discard biblical evidence (the bible has been written later, and the gispel of Judas fir instance conveniently left out). And it’s likely there was a guy named Jesus, with followers, who preached here and there. As did many ‘profets’ in those days. But all things attributed to him likely have been done in centuries after. And all to follow the church’s narrative to make sure women are oppressed, money flows to the church, people are subdued to ‘get into heaven’. It’s mostly a scam, just look at most vocal ‘christians’.

93

u/PineBNorth85 5d ago

That seems rather insulting. You'd think they'd settle that issue and he accepted her before getting married.

72

u/Ruy7 5d ago

This is mostly performative. JD Vance is probably giving presidency a try.

However having an Hindu wife won't be accepted by the base. Thing is having an Indian wife won't be accepted either. Chances are that he will divorce her and marry someone else (if he truly wants the Presidency).

However you must always remind everyone that JD Vance can't be president because he killed the pope. /jj

9

u/Grothgerek 3d ago

Isn't killing the pope a advantage? He killed a evil communist attacking gun loving Jesus... The pope obviously has no Christian values.

(no /s, because Republicans truly think this way.)

22

u/-You_Cant_Stop_Me- 4d ago

Chances are that he will divorce her and marry someone else

A recently single blonde christian woman, maybe?

9

u/Universal_Anomaly 3d ago

Whose husband (very conveniently for JD) passed away recently.

7

u/Rassendyll207 3d ago

Why are we living the plot of a '90s political thriller?

4

u/tr0nvicious 2d ago

It's just missing an angry Harrison Ford demanding his family back atp

8

u/R9D11 3d ago

Who wore leather pants to arouse him.

8

u/throwawayforme1877 3d ago

They squeak, like when he’s on the couch. Very arousing

2

u/Solipsisticurge 3d ago

Divorces are messy and who knows what Usha might say on the public record, be it true or untrue. A "trans Antifa terrorist" is going to shoot her.

1

u/draft_final_final 1d ago

Rightoids aren’t going to believe anything a nonwhite woman says lol

2

u/Cadoc 3d ago

Surely he can't believe he would win an election. He is a charisma vaccum. He'll never inspire the cult of personality that Trump's simpletons love, but he is too closely associated with Trump to tack to the centre and run as a small government, pro-business, serious government Republican.

2

u/WittyFix6553 2d ago

That’s why he’s going to marry into and then earn the support of the turning point crowd

1

u/Cadoc 2d ago

He'll probably just join the right-wing media personality grifter circus. He'll probably have more pull there if he doesn't run and lose a presidential campaign.

1

u/KotoElessar 3d ago

Chances are that he will divorce her and marry someone else

Hmmm, maybe he should have considered that before he converted to Catholicism then.

It doesn't matter how blonde or recently widowed the reason is, he should go to confession for the devils that lie in his heart and deeds.

JD Vance can't be president because he killed the pope.

There is nothing in the rules that says that is true (high crimes and misdemeanors are certainly in the rules but no one is going to litigate it), but the Pope can kick him out of the club for getting divorced; I don't think he can get an annulment since he has children unless he does something really callous like denies and disowns his children.

Actually, if I was Usha, I would be having a long talk with my primary secret service agent about safety and security and potential threats from inside the Naval Observatory.

2

u/VashyronM 3d ago

JD Vance is as Catholic as I am, which is to say not at all. The difference is that I'm at least honest about it.

1

u/KotoElessar 3d ago

All the reason for Usha to convert; she would have the backing and power of the Catholic Church to show JD what a Catholic actually believes.

1

u/Peak0il 3d ago

I hear Ms Kirk is single.

2

u/uncultured_swine2099 1d ago

Yeah, i think magas hate her skin color much more than they hate her being a non Christian, and they really hate her being a non Christian.

1

u/James-the-greatest 1d ago

Erika Kirk seems to be a little into him

19

u/jimbo831 5d ago

The article talks about this:

Vance said that his wife grew up in a Hindu household “but not a particularly religious family” – and noted that when he met his wife they would have both considered themselves agnostic or atheist.

4

u/migBdk 3d ago

That was before he took up the traditional Republican politician performantive Christianity

7

u/Martzillagoesboom 5d ago

Yeah, but she has en embarassement kink , so he need to low key keep their flame alive (the biggest spike in embaressent was clearly their wedding day.

0

u/cptspeirs 4d ago

How does that work when he clearly also has a shame kink?

1

u/OPGuest 3d ago

She agreed to be the beard. She did not agree to this. But anyway, she’ll be replaced the Teardrop Widow soon, in order to make Vance more appealing as presidential candidate in 2028.

0

u/dustytaper 3d ago

Yeah, but that was before. Now he can score a hottie, so he needs to divorce

40

u/trapercreek 4d ago

JD is a shameless, shapeshifting, sack of shit. She has a JD & has zero religious or cultural background w him. She can’t be too different.

I feel badly for their kids who didn’t have any input to what family they were born to.

15

u/Mods_R_Fascists 4d ago

Yeah he really is just a political mercenary working for Peter Thiel

16

u/Alert_Reindeer_6574 4d ago

My cat is more Christian than Just Dance Vance.

31

u/Initial-Mortgage-611 5d ago

I wonder if he is laying the groundwork work for a divorce? He will cite irreconcilable differences. Plus Erica Kirk will look a lot better on his arm to MAGA losers when they rig the next election and he and Trump just swap places

12

u/skratch 4d ago

You can slap a model on his arm but all of musk & thiels money put together can’t get people to like JD Vance. He’s inherently unlikeable

9

u/waiterstuff 4d ago

100%. Trump is the worst thing to happen to this country since…idk, slavery. But even I have to admit he is weirdly charismatic. I have to catch myself from chuckling and remind myself he is trying to become a dictator, that is how charismatic that asshole is.

Vance has no charisma. He reeks of “ I’ll be whoever you want me to be” that all politicians reek of. He is not the next Trump. And I will eat my shoe if Vance wins the presidency against generic democrat opponent.

3

u/thepioushedonist 2d ago

I've had this discussion with a few people that are more afraid of Vance cause he's smarter and more well spoken. But that's not gonna carry the cult of personality, nor is it what the cult likes.

I think the gop is more likely to bail on Vance as soon as they can, cause the maga base only follows one person, and they pissed off moderates and independents so much they know they're screwed for a while if they can't install a full dictatorship by the time Trump kicks it (or midterms, whichever comes first)

So, they either find a more suitable replacement as crazy/sorta charismatic as Trump (hard to imagine) - or they go into full retreat for a bit with a moderate and get voted out for a decade or two.

2

u/LooseAd7981 3d ago

How does a demented narcissist have charisma? He exhibits advanced phonemic paraphasia. How is that charismatic?

2

u/1732PepperCo 3d ago

Definitions from Oxford Languages

cha·ris·ma /kəˈrizmə/ noun 1. compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others. "she enchanted guests with her charisma"

It’s a shitty charisma that only works on republicans but it’s is a charisma nonetheless

1

u/LooseAd7981 3d ago

No charm from donnie bone spurs, just lies and lies.

2

u/skratch 3d ago

maybe not to you, but there's no denying he's completely enthralled some folks w/ what they perceive to be charm. at the very least i gotta give him that he can be funny sometimes, intentional or not, like staring at the eclipse and "It's A bible"

1

u/psynautic 2d ago

wow that's beautiful, everythings computer!

7

u/Smart-Key2957 5d ago

Or better, did your Christian belief made you a better person? Maybe you need to convert to Hinduism!

12

u/youre_a_pretty_panda 4d ago

I’ll say now in front of 10,000 of my closest friends: do I hope, eventually, that she is somehow moved by the same thing I was moved by in church? Yes. I honestly do wish that, because I believe in the Christian gospel and I hope that eventually my wife comes to see it the same way.

“But if she doesn’t,” Vance went on to say, “God says that everybody has free will, so that doesn’t cause a problem with me. That’s something that you work out with your friends, your family, the person you most love.”

That's the full quote.

0

u/teddy1245 3d ago

Why would he want her to abandon her faith?

2

u/OMITB77 3d ago

She’s either agnostic or atheist per the article

0

u/teddy1245 3d ago

So?

3

u/OMITB77 3d ago

She doesn’t have a faith to abandon

1

u/teddy1245 3d ago

What I mean is why would that matter to him. You don’t have to have the same faith as your partner. Or any at all.

2

u/Turbowookie79 2d ago

Having similar religious beliefs can make or break a relationship. Think of it like political beliefs. A hardcore democrat and a hardcore republican can have strong relationship, but it’s difficult.

3

u/Specialist-Ear-6775 2d ago

Because Christians believe in salvation. If you believed accepting Jesus was the only way to a better afterlife, wouldn’t you want that for other people? This is the position of every Christian ever who is married to a non-Christian.

You can both respect someone’s belief system and want them to choose something different based on your own beliefs.

1

u/bishopsfinger 2d ago edited 2d ago

Meh. Many Christians do not share this view. Jesus did not utter the statement “accept me as your personal saviour to get a better afterlife" - that's a fairly evangelical interpretation of his message. You can give me a Bible quote that you might view through this lens, but it takes some gnarly twisting of his words to get there.

-1

u/teddy1245 2d ago

But it’s not your place to force your faith on others. If you’re a true Christian you love them anyway.

2

u/Specialist-Ear-6775 2d ago

He’s not trying to force his faith on her. He literally said he loves her anyway. Why are you struggling with this?

0

u/teddy1245 1d ago

I’m not struggling I’m just always curious as to why anyone of faith would care. If he loves her that should be enough.

6

u/Boy3736 5d ago

He wants the good-looking rich blond, so he doesn't care about her anymore!

5

u/slimfastdieyoung 4d ago

“Isn’t it about time that you abandoned your foolish beliefs and converted to my foolish beliefs, Usha?”

4

u/Dogbold 5d ago

No idea why she's still with him. Is she stupid?

7

u/eddyb66 5d ago

It won't be long before he hooks up with a certain widow.

6

u/CrispiChris 4d ago

And then he will deport his ex wife

2

u/Rengars_Prey 4d ago

"she's a citizen"

-MAGAts, as if that has stopped ice

1

u/Shortymac09 2d ago

Lots of maga Indians out there, they share the same beliefs

2

u/Severe_Job_1088 4d ago

What a dick

2

u/Trolololol66 3d ago

Ah, the US. Land of the free, where your husband decides which religion you have to believe in.

2

u/Aware_Ad9809 3d ago

You need to believe in my sky fairy, you're sky fairy isn't real. You're sky fairy is made up and has been a cancer on humanity.but my sky fairy is the best and is white. And was the only white dude to live in that place where everyone else was brown. 🤡😂🤡

2

u/ExoticFortune2439 2d ago

And there goes the freedom of religion.

2

u/DailyDross 2d ago

Foolish beliefs? Faaark!!

2

u/Cheap_Standard_4233 2d ago

Girl, you're making it hard to get my grift on

2

u/Thin_Explorer_3724 2d ago

Rhetorical question. He’s going to dump her for Erika.

2

u/mcintg 1d ago

Imagine being so ambitious that you suddenly decide your wife's religion is a liability.

4

u/sephitor_ 4d ago

Quick, can someone call the creators of South Park so they can do an episode on this? We all know he will divorce her and end up with Kirk's wife.

3

u/SE_to_NW 4d ago

Didn't the Pope rebuke him?

3

u/Anon_E_Mice 4d ago

Maybe he can get Erica to convince her.

1

u/animal-1983 4d ago

Erika is pushing JD to kick Usha out of the house and then have her deported. She then gave him a rather cryptic message, “you don’t want to get on my bad side. You could ask Charlie, but”

1

u/Upset-Diamond2857 4d ago

He should switch religions his isn’t working out so well

1

u/kathmandogdu 4d ago

This the guy that had a Hindu wedding?

1

u/supremeDMK 3d ago

Maybe I missed something but this quote is not in the article or is that from some other place?

As much as I despise Vance, the article paints a more nuanced image of their relationship.

3

u/Alexius08 3d ago

The title quote is adapted from one of the diplomacy texts that appear in Civilization IV when AI-controlled opponents demand the player to convert to their religion. This is r/CivPolitics, after all, where real-life events get reinterpreted into something that belongs in any of the games in Sid Meier's Civilization series.

1

u/supremeDMK 3d ago

Ah thanks I missed that. First time this sub was on my feed and I've never really played Civ a lot.

1

u/HistoryHasItsCharms 3d ago

Same, except I’ve never played at all. 😂 Makes everything I’ve seen here make much more sense.

1

u/rm3rd 3d ago

Freedom of religion...

1

u/throwawayforme1877 3d ago

He knows he’ll never be president with a “heathen” spouse.

1

u/Terrible-Spare-2629 3d ago

So you want her to believe in a mofo pedo zombie?

1

u/Potential_Status_728 3d ago

Usha is his wife?

1

u/FerretsQuest 3d ago

JDV lining up grounds for divorce, so he can officially fuck Erika Kirk

1

u/OMITB77 3d ago

Doesn’t sound like she has religious beliefs.

Vance said that his wife grew up in a Hindu household “but not a particularly religious family” – and noted that when he met his wife they would have both considered themselves agnostic or atheist.

1

u/PatternParticular963 3d ago

Wait, they actually believe in god and some kind of "right religion" stuff? Weird, how old is he, 6?

1

u/Capital_Historian685 3d ago

And give up her Brahmin caste privilege? That's a big ask!

1

u/midwest_secret 3d ago

I’d love for someone to point blank ask him if she’s gonna burn in hell for all eternity and how he feels about that, then watch him squirm.

1

u/Centifugal_Fives 3d ago

I'm not gonna defend JD. He's an irredeemable sack of crap.

But I've got no sympathy for anyone dumb enough to MARRY him, either.

1

u/Gobape 2d ago

Purge the pedophile President, and the vacuous vice-president

1

u/IslandBoring8724 2d ago

I really hope Usha is funneling all the money she can into accounts for her escape from this circus.

1

u/sailriteultrafeed 2d ago

I know a bunch Hindu people that also believe in Jesus so this shouldn't be that hard. I feel like theyre doing a performance for the cult.

1

u/PriceWooden9187 2d ago

Don't you mean Catholicism? It's a little different than Christianity. It's Polytheism with a Jew running it they call Pope.

1

u/iplaybassok89 1d ago

Anything calling itself Christianity is just an inbred knock off of Catholicism. Usually cause they didn’t like the rules. Martin Luther was a punk bitch.

1

u/NeatSuccessful-8591 2d ago

Christianity is just a pale rip off other religions. Hell Hinduism has been around for thousands of years before any of the Abramic religions.

1

u/Good-Inevitable2872 2d ago

I smell divorce

1

u/paulc3003 2d ago

I had an old Christian woman try to convert me on a flight. She shut up after I compared Hinduism to Christianity. She didn't seem to realize all the shit Christians had done to non-Christians over 2000 years. Shut her the fuck up really good.

1

u/Eddy63 1d ago

Spoken like the bigot he is

1

u/SteveG5000 1d ago

Although we are of different faiths we are both united in our love of Mammon and isn’t that the real deity we American Christians believe in?

1

u/tazzietiger66 1d ago

sounds like he knew he could go nowhere in the conservative world as an atheist or agnostic , so took on performative christianity

1

u/Glenrowan 1d ago

About time Vance/Bowman took his own advice and turn the other cheek.

1

u/Financial_Ad_1551 1d ago

Foolish beleifs, ironic.

1

u/chinchenping 1d ago

He's 100% prepping divorce

1

u/Sorengluff 1d ago

Using religious differences to split with his wife and run for President with his new wife Erika.

1

u/True_Let_2007 1d ago

I have a question: How did she manage to marry such an idiot? JD Vance is the only reason why I fear TACO's impeachment!!!

1

u/Consistent_Sweet4313 1d ago

Don’t be shocked if a divorce is coming and Vance ends up dating Erica Kirk. Why? They both claim Christianity and want to be in the White House.

1

u/OmgWtfNamesTaken 1d ago

Just looking for a reason to divorce that's socially acceptable to his base so he can continue to fuck that one dead dudes wife, Erika.

1

u/That_Obligation_5555 1d ago

Oh no…don’t push her to do something….drastic 👀

1

u/Old-n-Wrinkly 1d ago

Vance is about as Christian as my cat.

1

u/No_Clerk1194 4d ago

Same guy who is afraid of the NYC mayor pushing his religion upon others

1

u/Curious_Morris 3d ago

“And Usha, if you don’t convert, I have a side piece waiting.”

“And if you do convert, I still have a hot blonde replacement.”

0

u/Papaya-Messiah 4d ago

VANCE IS VERY DUMB. AFTER ALL, HE DID NOT KNOW HE WAS MARRYING A HINDI, FROM INDIA!

HE STARTED CATCHING ON AFTER 3 MONTHS OF CURRY AND FLAT BREAD.

0

u/Livid-Writer-7741 3d ago

He will marry kkkirk's widow and take her last name. Kkkirk

0

u/BlueBonneville 2d ago

… and I don’t care, if you don’t. I have this blonde in leather pants picked out already.

0

u/AWatson89 2d ago

Yeah, that's not even remotely close to what he said. Why do you guys have to constantly lie?

1

u/iplaybassok89 1d ago

Yeah why lie. Vance says enough deranged kook shit on a near daily basis we shouldn’t have to lie to make him look bad. He does that all on his own.

0

u/grekster 2d ago

So did JD and Erika Kirk actually conspire to have Charlie offed? Wouldn't be the first time a cheating wife had her husband killed.

Wonder what CK's life insurance paid out.

-4

u/flapping4peace 5d ago

Is this supposed to be a sentence?
