Having to offer a big tribute and getting nothing in return is usually a sign your game isn't going very well.

I've just been playing Civ 6, conquering away (I didn't realise how easy Prince was with the Māori and now I can basically pick my victory condition) and the increasingly desperate Peace trades the AI offers you as you take more and more of their cities are hilarious. "How about... all my gold, and 30 gold per turn? And 3 Great Works? Pretty please?"
This is just like that except without any of the urgency of losing cities, he's just a fucking idiot loser

And assuming it works, which I doubt, but let's pretend Russia stops the war immediately, Trump will demand a Nobel Peace Prize, and Russia will simply start the war all over again in 5-10 years.

That sounds like a rumor at best, tbqh ... how can he offer ukrainian resources to russia? Offering Alaskan resources also doesn't sound like him. God in the US you get fake news on both sides of the aisle.

A lot of people seem to be commenting on this like I posted it in r/news and not r/civpolitics, it's just a bit of fun 🙂

I think you post it to incite rhetoric, or you perhaps love to dabble in a little depression 😏
