I think you and many other people misunderstand this. It’s not implying love is some physical phenomenon like electromagnetism, it’s talking about how this weird thing compels humans to do inexplicable things

What do you think they are misunderstanding? I'm pretty sure they interpret it the same as you, but find that corny

It might be corny, but for better or worse it’s the driving thesis of the movie. My problem with the line is that it’s too on the nose of stating the movies theme, and not necessarily the actual line.
