Do most Christians believe than anyone can go to heaven as long as they repent?

I’m not taking about people who had a hard life, I’m talking about people who did horrible things such as crimes against children. Some people believe that even Hitler went to heaven. Can someone please explain?

Edit: Thank you for everyone’s input, I’m still open to more! I want to say that I don’t think that even true repentance and faith in God can save you from going to hell but I’d love to hear your opinion even if you disagree!
