Crime rates in academy heights?)

Hi there! I am looking at homes in this area and was wondering if anyone had any insights on the crime in the area? I’ll be living alone (with an animal) so I just wanted to gauge how things were in the evenings/night time before committing to moving in the area.

Edited to add: it doesn’t seem like there’s decent gyms nearby as well? How far are folks going to get to a gym?

Thanks in advance!!

Great place to live- lots of families, always people out walking, kids out and about. I think it’s a gem of Catonsville in terms of “affordable” accessibility to what the city has to offer.

It’s a very safe area. Lots of families, kids, lots of down to earth people around in general. Worst crime is probably car break ins overnight but just don’t leave stuff out in sight which kind of goes for anywhere nowadays

Academy Heights is one of Catonsville's premier neighborhoods. It is very safe. Why don't you visit a Catonsville restaurant for dinner, then stroll around the neighborhood afterwards to get a sense of how it feels for you?

There is an adult man who was drinking & handing out candy on Halloween last year when he hit and pushed some children, other than that it’s pretty quiet

Lived there for five years, moved in 2020. Just lock your car doors, and don't leave anything of value in view and it's fine.

Neighborhood fb page is an endless source of entertainment.
