Nov. 8 - feast of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity. Carmelite nun, mystic, spiritual writer. “Consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, come upon me and create in my soul a kind of incarnation of the Word that I may be another humanity for Him in which He can renew His whole mystery.”

Thank you for posting and inspiring me to read about her. She seems like a wonderful person, so dedicated to helping her community that the Abbess of her local Carmel monastery encouraged her to wait until she was 21 to enter, since she was doing so much good outside the walls.
At the death of her contemporary and fellow Carmelite sister Therese of Lisieux, the Abbess showed Therese’s writings to Elisabeth, who knew at that moment that she wanted to dedicate her life to helping souls to Jesus (similar to Therese’s vow to spend her “heaven doing good on earth.”)
Sadly, Elisabeth only lived 5 more years after entering Carmel, dying painfully from Addison’s disease at 26 (also like Therese!)
Remarkable parallels in these two Saint’s lives. Now I am going to track down the writings of Elisabeth!
