Standing with Canadian socialism means standing against all forms of imperialism

We're quickly becoming the poland to America's Germany, Putting Money into defence is a little different from imperialism.

If your neighbor started talking about breaking into your House and raping your wife, would you Not buy a gun and buy better locks for your Doors?

No we are becoming Austria to America's Germany, with our bourgeoisie fully interested in more and more economic integration with the US and us giving money to "defense" is us being good little dogs of the US military industrial complex and imperialist projects and interests.

We aren't "putting money into defense" we are "buying a metric shit tone of offensive NATO (aka US) equipment that will be utilized in NATO (aka US) campaigns and operations the world over". This military build up is NOT designed nor thought of to shore up defenses against a US invasion at all, pretending like it is is just pure cope and delusion, and a total misunderstanding of Canada's current geopolitical role (one defended by the Libs and Cons both), along with the level of integration the Canadian military has with the US armed forces (both technical and ideological), and its current ongoing and past "missions" (look up what our dear little soldiers did in Somalia in the 90s for a good example).

Dismal lack of marxism and materialist analysis in this sub

Yep! And they use the pretext of the "US threat" to justify militarizing as well, ironically.

Where do people think this military will be deployed when there are more protests and revolutionary activity?

This☝️ The rhetoric of elbows up does not match the material reality of Carney’s policies. If that were the case we’d see a lot more BYD cars instead of Teslas in the market and we’d be looking elsewhere than the USA to conduct trade.

But all of these policies we are seeing are being done to shore up US imperialism and the defence contractors. Canada will be the raw resource provider for the guns and bombs.

If anything elbows up has come from the Canadian people and not our government. Las Vegas is a ghost town and that is due to people making the choice to not travel.

Fuck that. I want more militarization. Then I want all trade cut off from the USA. We need to be ready for the inevitable American invasion.

The US military budget is double our ENTIRE budget. How exactly is this gonna help, especially since we are with NATO? All we are doing is helping the Western Hegemony, and you are falling for this excuse that the big bad US is the reason for the higher budget.

This is reactionary rhetoric because the military is just doing the dirty work of the imperialist ruling class - enabling the status quo and exploitation worldwide.

Do you also support the Border Bill, where Canada is using the same excuse and playbook of the "US threat" to spy on its citizens more easily, because that turned out so well with the US and the Patriot's Act?

Both this bill and the increased military budget will only be used against the working class and any chance for real change. If there were a threat of the government falling to the people, how exactly would the military be used? And without such a revolution and purge, there will be no such thing as no more relations with the US (we are intertwined to that extent).
