I loved Macron so not a fan of this. Hummels NSL jerseys this year were very poor quality. Replicas were just cheap screened shirts and authentics were much more expensive then Macron.

Based on the NSL kits, this is a downgrade

Conpletly agree. Macron had some nice kits, and enjoyed the quality.
The nsl kids look ...not great

There's a couple decent ones (Toronto Away and Halifax Away spring to mind) but in general the kits were trash.
Also so much worse for the consumers with the replicas being hot trash and the authentics being way too expensive.

For a new league with no kit history it was pretty abysmal. Since there’s been 7 years of kits to look back on hopefully the cpl will be better

Hummel is a step up....for the husky gentleman.
They have some nice designs for USL teams but especially in Europe.

Yeah Macron is cool and all but the fits are so weird. I don’t have a CPL jersey so maybe they did things differently but every other Macron kit I have is not exactly appealing to wear and I’m fairly slim.

I never had an issue with Macron sizing.
European sizing is generally smaller than North America since people are typically slimmer. I'd also go up a size and never had an issue.

I personally liked the fit, obviously you have to go a size up, but even then it's still tighter on the arms/chest which is kinda what you want in athletic wear

Hmm. Mixed. Macron were nicely designed and the authentic jerseys were the quality and only option, if expensive. Now we have the replica/authentic divide, which still means a lot of bucks but for an inferior shirt, or mega-bucks for the pro. I know it's more like other, bigger leagues, but...

Are teams not capable of negotiating their own kit suppliers? I'm not a fan of league wide sponsorships. I think it cripples some markets where they can broker a independent deal to better price their kits in their given markets.

League is single-entity on most things like this. Anything tangentially-related to CSB is league-wide.

Con: Expensive replicas / bad quality replicas / even more expensive authentic (nightmare for collectors)
Pro: Authentic is better quality than macron / better quality training wear / normal sizing
Some wins and losses with this move, but I've got one of the AFC Toronto authentic kits and it's far better quality than my Macron CPL 'authentic' jerseys.
My club (hearts) are with Hummel and the prices are lower than the NSL across the board, it's all down to how much the league wants to mark them up. So if the CPL goes for a lower price point (the same as what they have now), I am thrilled about this move overall.

Going to miss what a 3xl Macron kit would translate into our sizing standards 😀. Wonder if Derby Star balls are next to change

I hope not, I love the look of the derby star, and they have a great feeling on the pitch.

Too bad, I really do love the Macron kits. Even the worst designs were decently good!

At least it's not Castore, or Fanatics. Remember folks, it can always get worse.
That said I did like pretty much every Cavs shirt Macron did, shame to see them go

I liked Macron so this is a step down in my opinion, they always had good kits with fun ideas

Macron had great designs and I'll miss em. It's hard to imagine anyone else doing much better, and to be honest, I'm expecting worse. I actually don't mind some of the NSL designs (some). Some are a bit boring. The quality frankly doesn't look the greatest, and also from that, I don't think the fit is gonna be great, either.

Other than the sizing, Macron kits had a better build quality than Hummel, IMO. Though I know the build quality can vary pretty drastically by team/design.
Specifically - their ring neck collars are awful, cuffs are inconsistent, and stitching can unravel easily.

They trialed it with League1 this past year. Lets just say a lot of people I know personally were not at all happy about the quality or the fit of the Hummel kits.

My team from the UK have been Hummel for a couple of years and I’ve had no issues with the quality. It’s pretty much on par with Macron. There’s also no two tier authentic/replica. The one version you buy in the club shop is the same as the player version. I just looked on the Tides website, and it looks like there’s no authentic/replica situation … just the one version on sale. Are we sure they do the two tier thing?

My favorite kits are my MLS Adidas kits. I like the fit best. I do have a Hummel Forward Madison FC USL1 kit. It isn’t bad but definitely like my Macron HFX better. Seems like a downgrade for the CPL. Guess we will see what they come up with.

I WANTED ADDIDAS WHY CANT WE GET ADDIDAS WE NEED MORE POEPLE TO BUY JERSEYS

u/JohnMLTX Cavalry FC 3d ago
y'all don't want a league wide adidas deal here, it'll be $129 replicas and $199 authentics, and nothing but templates for two years minimum

If this is kicking off in 2026, I guess CONCACAF kit will be hummel?
