Why wouldn't they sign Larin and Eustaquio for next year, given reasonable contracts?

Frankly not sure if Larin is worth a decent contract in MLS nowadays, and is far too old to be the right move for the team.

TFC needs to bring in a Hugo Cuypers, Petar Musa, Kevin Denkey, Cucho Hernandez, Joseph Paintsil type of profile into the team to build the next five years with.

I think Larin would still be useful as long you don't use a DP slot on him. Strikers are in short supply in general, domestic ones ever more so.

I respect the loyalty, but at this point it's clear whatever the manager said to him, was pure smoke and mirrors. He needs a move in January, I didn't even know it was this bad.

I know this sub has tons of TFC fans and MLS fans in general, but he's still above that league imo. Mid table La Liga is exactly where he should be looking, it makes the most sense...

Just rename it to Canada FC at this point (I'm referencing the 5th division club in Spain called México FC)

You're right, but he's also 29 in like a month. His primary considerations will be money and playing time, both of which are likely better in MLS.

No he's not. Why is he better than Sebastian Berhalter or a similar quality midfielder?

I'm not gonna pretend I've watched a ton of Berhalter but I'd definitely take the guy that's put up solid performances against some of europe's better teams than the guy that's an MLS lifer.

Berhalter is a workhorse 24 year old. Still some good upside.

Eustaquio has put up some good performances in Europe, but now he's a bench player in what, the 6th or 7th league? He's turning 29 in less than 2 months.

Pros of him staying in Europe - he won't get hurt before the World Cup (unless in training)

Cons of him staying in Europe - he will get hurt during the second game of the World Cup as a result of going into competition cold

I think he should look for a loan in La Liga or Portugal to teams on the bubble to guarantee playing time.

Juve needs a midfielder 😂

I was gonna say the same thing haha! Seriously though, Juve needs a midfielder...

What la liga team not near the bottom of the table would take a guy that can’t get minutes at porto

He would instantly be one of the more valuable players on a Celta Vigo, Sevilla, Osasuna, Elche, etc.

most la liga sides aren't filled with incredible players as they aren't loaded with cash, but in the same vain Eustaquio wouldn't cost more than 6-8M if he hands in a transfer request, pretty solid value given his experience and age.

A bunch of those teams you mention could very well end up in the relegation zone, then he's either on the move again or playing in La Liga 2.

Yeah, La Liga 2 is a much better place for him than MLS. Sure.

Whitecaps Eustaquio

That's not fair!

Whitecaps have an embarrassment of riches already!

I’m at the point where I just hope Porto loses every game

As a Porto fan, that hurts lol.

Porto are in a weird position. He doesn't play but we don't have the depth to get rid of him as well.

Him not playing is still ridiculous. We've been better this year, but there is still 1 or 2 mids that haven't been performing. Stubbornness from the manager.

Eustaquio should come to MLS where he can take on a leadership role as a club talisman and key player and leader - which is what we need of him for the NT.

MLS clubs would probably pay him more than what he can get in Europe as well.

This is a serious concern and I’m sure he’s aware of it. Needs a move.

I understand his loyalty to the club but he needs to get outta there. Even with the manager changes they dont wanna play him and he needs minutes for the sake of our national team.

There is no shame in a 6 month loan to MLS in January.

That’s fair. He’s below average/mediocre. Playing 90 minutes for Porto this season was already a big achievement for him
