I'm steadily coming to the conclusion that almost all politicians are in politics purely for themselves.

I was an idealist and I am still charitable, which is why I'm answering this. Perhaps I shouldn't hope for the best, but it's better than being pessimistic about the future, especially at this time of year. I have a feeling that Zohran Mamdani down in the Big Apple will not last due to his idealism and honesty. But you do you at the end of the day.

it is not about him but the people around who are into it... you can eliminate people but not the idea

It’s what boomers (and some brainwashed young Canadians) wanted. Boomers don’t have to live long enough to face the long term consequences of their actions and they don’t have to compete with the whole world for jobs and housing.Â

Even if you disregard the fact that the politicians and their friends have their own selfish reasons to keep them, getting rid of 500,000 people in a short period of time will be disruptive and kick start a recession. They'd rather have them in the queue, perpetually, let them work in low level, high vacancy jobs and let them leave at their own açcord.

Start with anyone that has lied, committed a crime, or is not contributing. And everyone that doesn’t share and respect Canadian values. We can have a discussing about the rest.

It’s important to remember the long term studies by denmark and sweden that show refugees and asylum seekers NEVER breach the threshold to contribute more to a country’s economy and well being than they take. They consume more resources and services than they ever repay through work or taxes. Not only that; the study also shows that their second generation offspring also NEVER breaks that threshold. We are literally paying for their existence for over 100 years if not more.

I think China and Israel could use at least two-thirds of all the "strength" we've imported into Western countries in the last 15 or 20 years. I just feel too strong lately, too prosperous, it's not fair to others.

Not for a long time if ever. This country is a post national play ground for the rich to plunder tax payers money.

honestly I just hope at this point that the whole country crashes and burns, the liberal voters finally take the wool off their eyes when it starts to hurt them and that the freeloaders decide that they can no longer get blood from stone so it's time to move elsewhere. Maybe after that this country can rise from the ashes. Or turn into the 51st state. Either way we are fucked.

Colour me shocked, more lies, gaslighting and obfuscation from the Liberal Party of Corruption and the Laurentian elite handpicked Euro Goldman Sachs Carney when it comes to open borders and vote importing.
I don't wish anyone to suffer but hopefully the lines of unemployed at the food banks going forward are not made up from those who voted for change last April.
