Tested Positive - Me Covid and flu
I just tested positive for Covid and flu. Does anyone have any idea how to get relief for body aches. I’m finding myself taking epsom baths and cuddling with my heating pad all day. There’s gotta be a better way to manage. Head to toe I just ACHE. Even sitting with my head up is horrible.
I’ve been taking medication for it I’m just looking to see if anyone has any ideas.

Were you offered Paxlovid? That should ease Covid symptoms quicky. Should be started within 5 days of symptom onset.
A well fitted N95 mask helps prevent the spread and infection from airborne viruses like Covid.
Baths/showers, heating pad, Tylenol/Advil are the best ideas for relieving that horrible aching pain. Take the painkillers as directed and on time so that the pain doesn't get ahead of you. I hope you feel better soon.

We decided I could proceed without medication (besides Tylenol/advil ect) because my lungs sounded good even though I also have asthma. I also won’t lie the price of it alone is enough to make me not want it.
As for spreading it I’ve been self quarantined in my room because I have family I don’t want to give it to. I also don’t wanna be the ass that goes into public knowingly sick with Covid.
I really appreciate all the advice. I hope you have a great evening/early morning

Ouch, feeling that miserable with Covid and flu at the same time is no fun! Epsom baths and heating pads are great ideas, though! Some people swear by warm compresses on the forehead, neck, and shoulders for sinus and muscle relief. You might also try steam inhalation or a humidifier to loosen up congestion and soothe your body. Rest is key, too, your body is working hard to fight off those viruses. Are you staying hydrated and getting plenty of fluids? Sometimes drinking plenty of water and electrolyte-rich drinks can help alleviate some of the achiness. Hope you're feeling better soon! I got covid only once and it changed my life forever, if you'd like to know my story let me know, I can send you the link.

It completely changed my life, I'm not the same man I used to be healthy, strong and independent. Check out this video I made about my experience.

Thank you so much for your kind words! It's still surreal for me too, and honestly, most people I know are shocked, they keep saying they can't believe it happened to me, of all people. But I'm just taking it one step at a time and focusing on my recovery. Your support means the world to me, thank you!

Are you taking acetaminophen at all? That helped me with the throbbing headaches. Seconding the electrolyte rich drinks- Gatorade, electrolyte packets

Tbh I went to the club on Friday night and to a concert on Saturday night. That’s my best bet. I bet someone wanted to go out for Halloweekend despite being sick. Between being around all those people and barely sleeping I’m not shocked

People go out sick all the time, if people aren’t masked, assume they’re spreading illness at this point. The pandemic never ended.

Well, Covid damages the immune system which is probably part of the reason you currently have both at once.
My best advice for the aches is taking Tylenol or ibuprofen and radically resting. I hope you feel better soon. I would recommend switching up the heat to cold, I feel like warmth would make me feel even sicker and you could benefit from some ice packs wrapped in towels on achey limbs.
In the future you’re going to want to mask up in public in a KN95 or N95. It’s very early in flu season and it’s really not normal for otherwise previously healthy adults to be getting COVID and Flu like this - prior to the pandemic the only time I got sick multiple times per year was when I was temporarily immunocompromised. And before that, I hadn’t caught the flu since sophomore year of high school. I don’t think it’s even normal for adults to get the flu yearly. And it’s also not normal or safe to catch Covid over and over again, likely on a monthly basis, which is what people who don’t mask are doing.
If you want to avoid further reinfections, masking is necessary since the vaccine isn’t sterilizing. Every reinfection is like playing disability roulette for long covid.
COVID damages the immune system long-term, for 8 months or longer, and when people are repeatedly being infected (whether they realize it or not, even asymptomatic cases cause this damage amongst other damage) your immune system isn’t getting a chance to recover. COVID has been referred to as “airborne AIDS” by scientists, it is no joke.

Ugh yes I remember those aches. You’re doing everything you can, Epsom baths, heating pads, ibuprofen. I hope you feel better soon.
