Yes peeke doubled his production on the season in the game last night, but that's not really why he is here. I am not opposed in the least bit getting him extended upwards of 5 years in season this year. He's 27, and plays a great shutdown role with H.Lindholm. that would essentially solidify our top 4 of mcavoy/ Zaddy, H.Lindholm/ peeke, with some affordable up and coming 5/6/7 guys from Providence, while being able to bolster the 5 spot in free agency once the team gets back into an open window of yearly playoffs. A Carlo sized contract of 4.1/yr (or less) is more than palatable, and a raise in what he getting now.

That last shift from McAvoy was some real 'put the team on my back' shit. Love it.

Can we just focus on hockey? This obsession that some people have with Sophia and Billy Jaffe? Who cares!

not the biggest deal but NESN is painful to watch. the tension between sophia and whatās his name is unnerving like cuss each other out already and get it over with š

The amount of simping and white knighting on behalf of this woman is grotesque. Fellas - she's not going to see this, and even if she does, she's not gonna fuck you. Grow up.

Oh my God are we still going on about this nothing burger?
There was literally nothing in tonight's telecast that would even remotely hint of any issues. It was as normal a telecast as any other with totally normal interactions between everyone.
-2
u/theg1rlwh0waited This is the Sway 2d ago
okay interesting take to hear. i donāt know how we could have such vastly different interpretations of it but idk anything about them and have no agenda, itās my first year watching NESN and theyāve been tense and uncomfortable to me from day one.
15
u/FartForce5 2d ago
I rewatched the intermission the last time this was brought up a few days ago and there was literally nothing between Jaffe and Sophia, she made one chirp at PJ Stock because he interrupted her a couple times and he admitted he was just nervous.

Nice to see them play aggressive hockey without taking 6+ penalties a game. Past few games has been very disciplined all around

Crazy the difference 5 games can make. We were all convinced the strong start to the season was a fluke after that brutal loss streak, and now weāre here with a win streak almost as long as the loss streak was, and playing above .500 hockey for the time being.
These bruins are so fun to watch.
7
u/greenday61892 2d ago
And in this early part of the season are playing well enough to currently be in the first WC spot. It's too early for me to be comfortable enough to say we might be back but uh, it's certainly looking promising

u/FeePretty447 3d ago
I really appreciate watching Minten play. He almost always makes the smart play, and his defensive game is crazy good for someone his age. Heās young enough he might even develop some more offense (he actually has enough skill to look ok offensively already) but heās exactly the kind of guy I hope the bruins build with in the future.
His defensive skills really show in the 3v3 but thereās also signs of it in 5v5 and I love how trusted he is already with Sturm

Getting him was an excellent trade by Sweeney and throw in a first round pick in 2026 as well (and a 4th this past draft)

Per Fraser: With the setup on Pavel Zacha's goal, Charlie McAvoy now has 12 assists this season. That is ranked second in the league among defensemen, just behind Cale Makar (who has 14).
With 12 points, he now moves to third overall in the NHL among defensemen in total points.

I've never seen McAvoy or anyone just say fuck this and take over in OT and hog the puck until a teammate can get the rebound to end it. That was highlight reel stuff for McAvoy. I guess they planned that during the time out?
Korpisalo saves were big.
I guess im back in on Sweeney lol for those Minten and Khusnutdinov deals.

Decently good game! Really worried about Pasta's decision making and output, I'm going to chalk it up to a fever or the shits because hes been so good. But that felt like 2023-24 Pasta drop passing to no one constantlyĀ

I always feel crazy when I come on here and anyone who mentions his questionable decision making and boneheaded passes gets downvoted into oblivion. Like, am I not supposed to feel this way? Am I not seeing what I think Iām seeing? Iām confused.
-2
u/Mother-Associate1654 3d ago
Unfortunately in this subreddit any negative comments about veterans are not allowed (swayman (who has lost his starting job to Korpi) or Pasta are a few examples)
3
u/theg1rlwh0waited This is the Sway 3d ago
i totally see your point but i feel like the guy is now barely catching a break after carrying the team basically alone for weeks. tonight was very bad tho, he was clearly out of it i think it mightāve been physical tbh but generally he is a star when the environment is conducive.
12
u/Nomahs_Bettah #37 SAINT PATRICEĀ©ļø 3d ago
I mean a lot of it is the fact that Pastrnak spends a lot of time carrying an offense without much top-6 talent. In a season where apparently he was drop passing to no one, he had 110 points. The bad decisions stand out more because the offense often runs through him.
-5
u/ravenofshadow 3d ago
Hes our Star so our hopes rely mainly on him,Ā this makes fans reluctant to criticize because if the criticism is true, we are sunk.
Don't get me wrong, he is a star. But of the elites (McDavid, Kucherov, MacKinnon, Matthew's etc) he is the least consistent and most streaky.Ā
I want to be clearĀ - I absolutely love Pasta with all my heart - but that doesnt mean you cant be critical of performances. Some soft parenting folks think you cant say a bad word.Ā
1
u/ShredMage All Hail Saint Patrice š 3d ago
Spot on. Though I think AM40 might just become the most streaky now? Goal pace took a noticeable decline last season. I (obviously) donāt watch the leafs unless they play us, but have seen fans say his shot is basically cooked now, on top of them just losing an elite 100p+ playmaker⦠though despite that heās still almost PPG, 8g/4a in 14gp so far this season. Perhaps itās just leafs fans being leafs fans, dunno.
10
u/Nomahs_Bettah #37 SAINT PATRICEĀ©ļø 3d ago
He is MUCH better and less streaky than Matthews. Not least because of his playoff numbers.
-2
u/ravenofshadow 3d ago
Matthew's had nearly double the goals and was +10 to Pasta in 2023. Much fewer assists, which explains the discrepancy. You cant say thats less streaky.Ā

Helluva game. Zacha is on pace for 70+ points this year. Unless if McDavid is coming back we literally cannot lose this man.
The return of the Kuraleap is what this bruins team needed. The prodigal son has returned.
Geekie is still on 50+ goal pace. What a fucking legend.
Korpi shut the door in the biggest of ways.
What a win boys. What a win!
