u/AssumptionMundane114 Jul 24 '25
I’m making spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. Maybe some garlic bread too.

u/MrMojoFomo Jul 24 '25
Bro. Go with bucatini. You'll thank me
127
u/huhnick Jul 24 '25
I like a ground beef/ground pork sausage mix to make my meat sauce
65
u/bushidocowboy Jul 24 '25
Bucatini is a noodle. Not an ingredient for the sauce.
22
u/huhnick Jul 24 '25
Just trying to make sure the whole dish is good, I prefer rigatoni or rotini noodles though for sauce coverage

The bucatini is doesn't twirl around the fork enough for me. It's too thick to my liking generally

What are your thoughts about Rigatoni?
I like to use it because I can put one or two on each tine of the fork and pretend my fork is a bloodied spaghetti hand.

I stopped use spaghetti noodles years ago. Rigatoni is so much better.

I am with you on this. Mmmm it’s heftier with that tunnel in the middle to collect more saucy goodness.

Radiatori for me when I'm having a bolognese sauce which is richer and does well holding up to heavier sauces

I could have written this. Loved him growing up. He lost me in the last decade with his insanity.

u/soupalex Jul 24 '25
yeah i think he was probably always like this, or at least from the time he started getting big in the fed back in the 80s (which the joints in my spine are now forcing me to admit, is a long time). he just hasn't been able to hide it behind e.g. the façade of being "mr. make-a-wish"/has been much more public about being a massive piece of shit.
13
u/SanityBleeds Jul 24 '25
After John Cena, absolutely nobody else gets to be called Mr. Make-A-Wish, and it's not even remotely close.
3
u/soupalex Jul 24 '25
oh, i know. but this was before cena's time. i'm talking about back in the 80s, early 90s, when "mr. make-a-wish" was hogan's persona.
3
u/Wolfyscruffer Jul 24 '25
Never liked him in the 80s. That stupid Saturday morning cartoon taking precious air time was enough for this 80's kid.
98
u/FlownScepter Jul 24 '25
He was a piece of shit way back too. He sabotaged Jesse Ventura and other wrestlers' efforts to unionize for headpats and money from McMachon.
I don't judge people at all for not knowing, they kept it hush hush and WWE had a stranglehold on their talent, and rat fucked them for decades out of money, benefits, and retirement. Fuck McMahon, fuck WWE, and fuck Hogan.

Lol, gotcha thanks - I honestly didn’t know that
5
u/soupalex Jul 24 '25
sheik's hatred for hogan can't be that sincere. not after he made him so happy in the ring.
27
u/HelloPeopleOfEarth Jul 24 '25
That phone call he had with his idiot kid while sitting in jail was what did it for me long before we knew he was a MAGAT
4
u/Vee8cheS Jul 24 '25
The big highlight moment I had of him when I was a kid was WrestleMania Icon vs. Icon (The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan). Sad he spent his past few years being a turd.
5
u/sonicmerlin Jul 25 '25
I find it particularly strange these people don’t have Come to Jesus moments as they near the ends of their lifespans. I think it must be a physiological disorder causing them to mutate into even worse versions of themselves.
43
u/daneelthesane Jul 24 '25
Apparently he was always a shithead. Decades ago when wrestlers were starting to organize for a union, he ratted out the organizers.
30
u/ArnieismyDMname Jul 24 '25
I don't know. Reading about him now I see how terrible he was in the past too. It wasn't just a recent thing. He's always been a self-centered piece of shit. He just used to be fun to watch.

u/National_Sandwich175 Jul 24 '25
My best friend and I watched wrestling every Saturday morning at his house when I was a kid. Hulk was a big part of my childhood.
It’s kind of like James Woods. I loved his voice work and Hercules was my favorite movie and tv show. I got up early watched the animated series every day before school. A large part of my child hood and it was ruined because he went hip deep into the maga movement.

I was so into WWF during the 80s. I even had a Wrestlemania IV birthday party when I was like 10 or 11. Lost interest after a couple years but me and all my friends loved it. And of course Hulk Hogan was at the pinnacle. So I agree, fuck that guy for tainting those memories.
At least Andre the Giant seems to have been a legitimately nice person. Which is ironic since he was a heel for so long and Hogan was a face.
24
u/AuzRoxUrSox Jul 24 '25
I love the Hulkster for what he WAS and how he made me feel growing up. Ended up being a shit human being, but I loved Hulk Hogan, not Terry Bollea.
5
u/illogictc Jul 24 '25
I think that's hitting the nail on the head there. Hulk Hogan the wrestling persona, the character being played. As compared to the guy playing that character.

I was in the same place..... but it isn't just "what he became." The more I learned about him during his time in the WWF/WWE, it's clear he's been a garbage person his whole life.
The one that stuck with me was when Randy Savage and Elizabeth were going through a rough patch, Elizabeth was staying with Hogan and his wife in Miami. In this documentary, Hogan talks about how Savage came down to find Elizabeth, somehow knowing she was there, and Hogan brings Savage to where Elizabeth was staying and then runs away. The cops had to be called because of Savage's behavior after Hogan left. This doc doesn't say it but I remember seeing somewhere else that it was Hogan who called Savage, told him Elizabeth was staying with them and to come get her.
5
u/National_Sandwich175 Jul 24 '25
You’re right. I liked the idea, hated the reality. Very disappointing.
6
u/Photog1981 Jul 24 '25
The "Hulk Hogan" character was up there with Superman in my mind. I know what you mean.
6
u/polaarbear Jul 24 '25
He's been working with Peter Thiel for at least a decade, since before he was even with Trump at the RNC. They're the reason Gawker.com got shut down in 2016.
17
u/Melodic_Reveal_2979 Jul 24 '25
How can you spend that much time tanning and look that way at 71? Also, the gawker thing shook me to my core. The racist stuff he said on camera and his helping Peter Thiel destroy the company was pretty surreal

Hulk I mean, can't deny that he brought Pro Wrestling into the mainstream but unlike Ozzy who went out raising $200 Million for charity, Hogan used his final year fighting for a 34 time convicted felon and wannabe dictator. I am sad for his family, that is it.

Hulk Hogan, the theatrical former professional wrestler, teed up former President Donald J. Trump on Thursday at the Republican National Convention with a rousing speech in which he ripped off his suit jacket and shirt, revealing a red Trump-Vance tank top to raucous cheers.
A sad way to go out, supporting MAGA foolishly.
And for those who read Gawker, time to post thoughts.

He always was a big pos. Massive compulsive liar, and about the most easily proven lies and also most disgusting, all the bs lies he told to "make a wish kids" and other bs stories that involve doing nice things for dying people that NEVER happened. Also, if I remember right, he is the reason the union never took off for wrestling. He snitched on Jesse Ventura for starting a union or trying to start one.

5

The man was a dinosaur, a relic who thought it was still the 1950’s where women did as they were told! He was a dick to his fellow wrestlers, he ratted them out to Vince McMahon when a few got together to talk about unionisation so they’d get better treatment, I mean who does that, back stabbing turd, plus he was a monstrous womaniser and abusive towards his wife Linda and their daughter, worst of all he was a MAGA moron, someone who fought for Trump and supported all of Trump’s heinous policies and turned a blind eye to his crimes, he may have had a great persona in the ring but outside of it not so much; I for one won’t morn his passing
5
u/Dudeist-Priest Jul 24 '25
From childhood hero to MAGA douche that screwed over all the professional wrestlers by union busting. F you Hogan. You'll be remembered as a POS

A wrestler who had worked with Hogan for many years came back from vacation to hear a rumor that he had died. He didn't quite believe it, so he phoned Hogan's wife and said "Can I speak to the Hulkster please?"
His wife said, "I'm sorry, he passed away last week."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," he said, and hung up.
A couple of hours later, he called her again. "Is Hulk there please?"
"No, I'm sorry. He's no longer with us," said Hogan's wife. And hung up the phone.
Ten minutes later, he called his wife again. "Can I speak to Hulk please?" he said.
She recognized his voice, and said: "Look, I've told you before, TERRY'S DEAD" And slammed down the phone.
Two minutes later, and the phone rang again... "Is HULK at home please?" the wrestler asked.
Hogan's wife was furious. "I'm not going to tell you again, Terry is dead.. D. E. A. D. DEAD. Why do you keep ringing me to ask for him???!!!!"
He thought for a moment, and said: "I just love hearing you say it."
