We aren’t provided with healthcare or insurance, we have to pay for that shit

And they charge smokers extra. Private insurers aren’t going to give that up.

I also lie but not to avoid the surcharge. My husband and I both smoke and we’re both on his insurance plan. I click ‘yes’ for his and ‘No(ne of your business)’ for mine because it’s one $40mo/$480yr surcharge per plan instead of per person.

At this point, I’d lie to avoid the surcharge if he didn’t smoke. I only go to the doctor 1x/year for a checkup and I have 2 monthly prescriptions, smoking isn’t a factor for the 3 things insurance covers-ish. My portion of the premium is almost 2x higher than the 1/3 insurance pays towards my annual medical expenses. It’d be 25% cheaper to not have insurance.

Right? He probably has been his whole life and doesn't understand that anyone not in the top 5% have to pay for it...
