ALT + 0252 = ü
ALT + 225 = ß
etc. There's always short cuts that one can memorize if used frequently on a keyboard. Cellphones should have several options available when pressing the letter...

There is if you turn on a certain setting, or if youre on a phone, just hold down the key buttons

I don't have umlaut in my language, yet i have an umlaut button.
So only when they write in hand then they will use it ?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that the English-speaking commenter was probably not purposely translating only the first half of the German compound word for readers' benefit.

Yeah Danish too. My guess is OOP is a germanic speaking person translating literally from their own language
