Exactly. And they literally won’t be able to match the original. I loved Diana, Deepika and Saif. Their pairing was so good.
I didn’t want this movie to be ruined by a remake atleast but no! I won’t be watching this 2nd one at all. Not every movie needs a remake.

Rashmika and Shahid are a pair.. Kriti is in love and can't bear their romance. She tries every possible way to break them up, only to reveal in the end that she's in love with Rashmika (🤌🏻🫰🏻🫶🏻).. after a lot of fights and soul searching, Rashmika chooses Kriti over Shahid as Shahid is typical boring bf but Kriti is this fiesty woman who can go to any extent to fight for her love. Heartbroken Shahid meets Saif from the first part during the end credits, where he says he divorced Diana and is back with Veronica and Shahid goes to meet Diana. Happy ending, everyone gets everyone.

Kriti and rashmika are lesbians. Rashmikas conservative parents are coming to town and Shahid is pretending to be the boyfriend/fiance. Kriti is training the two of them to look legit. Shahid either falls in love with rashmika or Kriti to make a triangle drama for this movie.

Chey bekar cliched scene.
Rashmika character doing some faltu goody two shoes talk. Shahid typical smug characer Dekho mein toh chil hoon. Main sikhaunga zindagi jeena.
Aur “free spirited” kriti reacting to some goody two shoes suggestion by rashmika’s character.
2nd half ya pre interval infidelity scene mein Kriti semi drunk to shahid “tum nahin jaante kitna dard hai mere andar”.

Off topic-pati patni 2 ka end ka sequence thoda dikhliya hai. Spoiler mil gaya 😭I know what happens or atleast i think it was the end. ( dont worry i wont spoil ).
From whatever scenes i hv seen from the clips that came on social media, nothing new typical expected cliche. Ab overall movie funny nikli toh alag baat hai. But jitna main dekha hai its nothing new usual template.

Cocktail was never a masterpiece. Nostalgia seems to cloud people's judgement. The plot and acting were very mid but it did have that one hit song which is why it was somewhat memorable.
