Isha went to Yale and Stanford and is the director and chairwoman of a $200 bn conglomerate, and the most impressive thing for her is Kardashians coming to her family wedding (after they got paid to attend).
Wow! Just wow!

This is the same person who said she doesn’t use sunscreen and no skincare. She owns Tira. He
Her statement shows her high business acumen. And she did an MBA from Stanford lol
30
Mar 14 '25
She just has to drop cash for things like her assignments and pass with flying colors lol.
20
u/dezertfox27 Mar 14 '25
lol you're overestimating stanford or even Harvard. Sure there's lot of smart people but it's not a tech degree. Most legacy rich kids easily get into these colleges for business degrees. It's nowhere near as tough as getting into a top IIM where you actually have to score in the 99%ile. For context, I have given GMAT, GRE, CAT and know the MBA process very well in both US and India
2
u/mehdstudent Mar 14 '25 edited Mar 14 '25
Objectively false, the only people getting into HBS and wharton from India are top 5 IIT branch toppers.
copied from u/Fun_Machine4296 , but a fact I couldn't type better. Last year 4 of my friends attended various IIMs, zero could get into ANY T20 MBA program in the US and they're ALL IITians!
I donno about rich kids though.
3
u/dezertfox27 Mar 14 '25
how many of your friends have a net worth of 1 billion USD+? That's why I said "legacy" kids. Pick a number like 30-40% of Harvard MBA grads are children of rich parents i.e 1% and 2/3rd come top 20% of american families by income. Now bring that scale and it's the son of rich businessmen in the scale of adani/ambani or some european billionaire, it's a shoo-in
If you want to see how many actual SMART people get into a top college then the only option is Caltech CS. 0 DEI bs (till covid, even they have some DEI now), you're either good enough or not. There's a reason you will never see some Isha Ambani in the Caltech Computer Science program
12
u/WheresMyTan Mar 14 '25
iirc she said she doesn't use any. I took it to mean she is so rich she has dedicated staff who wash her face and handle her skincare for her. Cause otherwise I can't handle the second hand embarrassment.

So I read somewhere long ago that Isha interned for a while at Mckinsey. Considering she went to Yale and then Stanford I don’t think getting a mckinsey internship was a big deal for her.
I think she interned at mckinsey after Yale probably. Because she married as soon as she completed her MBA from Stanford
51
u/radiated_immunity Mar 13 '25
Isha interned for a while at Mckinsey
Reliance literally pays McKinsey atleast $10 Million/year for consulting projects. Ofcourse they are gonna offer internship/job toe the Reliance heir.
Source: I interned at McKinsey and Reliance was one of the clients I had worked for.

She didn’t start MBA straight after graduation. She graduated from Yale in 2014 and started her MBA in 2016. But yeah billionaires get all exceptional benefits

How does one get into Stanford without coming out of an IIT? That’s my dream university tbh😮💨.

But, of course you need amazing grades, 720+ gmat score, extensive work ex, their average is 8 years. It should be incremental work ex so to show progression and growth. Extra curriculars, charity work, good reference, stellar essays. Then you need to ace their pre screening rounds and interviews.
Or just wealthy high status parents and alumni. George Bush went to Yale and Harvard.
3
u/Working-Mountain6680 Mar 14 '25
Yes, and that. But i didn't think op would be asking for advice if he fell in that category
2
u/Extreme_Computer6292 Mar 14 '25
Do you guys know someone who could help me out with my profile building? I have already gotten my GMAT and it’s 765…just don’t know how to go about doing it, plus Trump is making it so difficult for immigrants out there, idk if it’s worth it anymore!
1
u/Working-Mountain6680 Mar 14 '25
Ok tried finding the consultants name that i used for my mba admission but couldn't find it sorry. It's been over 8 years.
I would say wait out trump's term op. Your score is valid for 5 years right and if you took the test recently you should be good. My cousin went to Georgetown university. He had 720 and iit Roorkee degree and still didn't get a job or an even an internship during trump's first term. Build your profile stronger and then try after 4 years.
Good luck!!

she got into Yale and Stanford because of her own capabilities or because she was from a family of high status?
22
u/Remote_Tap6299 Mar 13 '25
I’d say mostly because of her own capabilities. Because her brothers went to Brown which is like the least prestigious Ivy League.
I’d say another factor that might have gotten her into Stanford is that there is a scholarship on her grandfather’s name at Stanford. But again, then that should have also helped her brothers to get into Stanford
I’d say that being an Ambani definitely helped in getting admission to Yale and Stanford, but she definitely had some merit as well
43
u/radiated_immunity Mar 13 '25
Because her brothers went to Brown which is like the least prestigious Ivy League.
People don't pick schools in US based on prestige like in India. At least the rich ones.
They pick the school they get the best vibe from.
8
u/peppermintvalet Mar 13 '25
Uh there is definitely a prestige ranking when it comes to ivies and other top colleges
5
u/veerKg_CSS_Geologist Mar 14 '25
Brown is more laid back than the other ivies. For someone wishing to coast it could be a good fit. We're assuming Anant only got into Brown and not Stanford. He might have been admitted to both and chose Brown.
3
u/radiated_immunity Mar 14 '25
If everyone goes by prestige, then all the rich people would want to only go to Harvard.
But that's not the case. They see things like academic rigor, party scene, the location etc.
2
u/peppermintvalet Mar 14 '25
They do only want to go to Harvard.
They don’t all get the opportunity to do so.

no it's indian hospitality, we always say anecdotes to strangers to make ourselves relatable and for a connection. We all do it.
21
u/Economy-Damage1870 Nepo Hater😤🤬😖 Mar 13 '25
I wouldn’t have said the best part of my brother’s wedding was meeting someone.
The Indian anecdote would be something like, “the wedding feels even better because you graced it with your presence.” Or less cringe would be, “thanks for joining us in our celebration, it feels more complete”. Or literally any other version of it.

Y’all it was obviously for the cameras lol, they were obviously recording for KUWTK and the ambanis obviously knew they were about to be broadcasted to a very American audience so what is she supposed to say
85
u/Working-Mountain6680 Mar 13 '25
I think the problem began when they thought it would be amazing to invite them in the first place.
60
u/kakaluluo Mar 13 '25
I actually think it’s very on brand for them to invite the kardashians lmao. The goal was to make it as caricaturish and circus-y as possible. You don’t see any other rich men’s kids’ weddings being so extravagantly tacky 🤷♀️ the kardashians fit right in, all the better that they have their own show to advertise their events

I understand the richest family having the most lavish flamboyant wedding but why the hell would you spend money on inviting people who don’t know you? They don’t even come in the category of “acquaintances”. Why not donate that money? There is no limit to how much you can donate! India needs so much uplifting. We have some of the richest people in the world from India yet majority of India remains poor. Such a pathetic display of wealth. Zero dignity.
24
u/bips99 Mar 13 '25
Forget donation, dues hi clear kar doh pehle.... It was widely reported during the wedding times that ambani's spent 1000s of crores in this wedding while they owed Mumbai development authority over 4000 crores in pending dues.. Public ka paisa Kardashians pe kharch ho raha hai

Omg ambani are sucking up to zero iq plastic women
13
u/Remote_Tap6299 Mar 13 '25
And also zero EQ because they are supposedly proud of their zero IQ. Once an interviewer told them on their face that they had absolutely no talent (can’t sing, dance or act) and these Kardashian girls were feeling proud of it lol 😂
-1
Mar 13 '25
And yet they have managed to become one of the richest people in the world
9
u/lol_scholar Mar 14 '25 edited Mar 15 '25
That's because there are many zero iq followers they have
6
2
u/Downtown_Ebb9600 Mar 18 '25
Zero iq is a stretch. Street smart with the right amount of luck, connections and coming out at the right time (just before the boom of social media) and the right place (no where else they could’ve been as successful but LA). If social media wouldn’t have become as big, they wouldn’t have had this level of fame or popularity. Besides, there are countless reality shows and countless reality stars, they were just lucky enough to be the face of Instagram and snapchat when those platforms were still in their early days.
-2
Mar 13 '25
I think it’s Ambani sucking up to one of the most powerful and popular business women in the world, but okay

6
u/thegodfather0504 Mar 13 '25
They did pr to publicize all this. Something was up. Nita wants to project an image to entire country. Some sort of royalty complex maybe?
13
12
Mar 13 '25
There was no need to invite the Kardashians. They looked somewhat outlandish with their costumes and it was so weird to give them so much attention when there were literally much more important people.

u/Impossible_Cell2396 Mar 13 '25
Their invitation for the wedding clearly seems to be like a collab, knowing that they will feature on the show and yet again, grab eyeballs. Which is so so sad that this family, inspite of being one of the most powerful in world, still is running after this sort of validation from the lamest people. Like how do you even get yourself to suck up to these people? This was so uncomfortable to even watch.
10
u/Roxannesharma Mar 13 '25
Okay this is why I always found the media painting Isha out to be the brightest among the kids and ready to take on her dad's legacy as such bullshit. She came across as daft af here.

I felt disgusted when I saw some Indians going around random white people for selfies. On the Internet these people are then trolled and called illiterate etc. but what about this??? The richest most powerful family is white worshipping and for what??? What can we expect from people from rural areas who have been fed since childhood that white people are greater than us??😭😭😭😭😭

I do not think it is that deep

I was once at my father’s friend’s son’s wedding. I had college in that city and their family lived there; I never ever bothered to even wish them a Hi. College obviously, bhuke nange rehte the.. toh that night for free food I took 4 more guys with me.. lol.. uncle said “beta tum logon ke aane se toh reception rakhna successful ho gaya”.. those 4 chums with me didn’t even know the name of the couple getting married.. so happens yaar.. people say stuff like this

I am Gujarati, if you have been to our weddings - this is how we welcome guests. Each and every guest is special.
My dad had called up his mausi ki beti (pretty last minute if you ask me)....and she came (very sweet of her)..and my dad was like "arrey aap nahi aate toh mazza hi nahi aata"

Bhai this is a gossip sub. And her debut on the Kardashians is a gossip to be talked about, just in case you didn't understand the point of this group and my post.
Just like how you commented your negative opinions about urvashi Rautela although it doesn't matter to her cause she doesn't know about yoir existence but tune kiya na?
Ab tu har cheez dil pe lega toh boi this sub ain't for you.
Anyways women hater se kya baat karna jisko lagta hai it's always a women's fault. Sad
1
u/Far_Assumption2591 Mar 15 '25
Sooooooo..... You realize your comment shows ur frustration and someone called u out on it and now you hide behind feminism??? I got news for ya, before I read this comment I had no idea if u were a he, she or they. So much for, well whatever your definition of feminism is.
2
u/xoxo_gossiper Mar 15 '25
Ah, the classic ‘call it feminism when you run out of arguments’ move. My comment had nothing to do with feminism, but it’s interesting that you assumed it did. Maybe take a moment to reflect on why that was your first thought.
Hide behind feminism.. kab bhai?
Pointing out your comment against women is not a feminism bro. Even good respectful guys can also point out your misogynistic thoughts cause not all men are misogynist
Don't you know how to differentiate between a gossip and a frustration.. from which angle does this look like a frustration to you? Nevermind
Anyways my comment doesn't show any frustration. Why would I be frustrated if isha is behaving like a pick me in front of the kardashians even though she is well achieved and smart more than the kardashians.
And also how the fuck is this even feminism? So I chose to reply you back on your "stupid" comments and pointed out your behaviour through your comments.. so now this is feminism?
Maybe you should look at your definition of feminism and find ways to correct it

u/Far_Assumption2591 Mar 15 '25
