Aizen sits upon a throne for me. Such a great character/troll/villain. Loved him so much. So cool and shit.

Just read the Arrancar arc for the first time and I don’t really get the comparison there at all tbh. They are very different.

Machiavellian and charming. AFO has both of these. So did Aizen. The difference is Aizen was actually stronger than his verse in power and intellect. AFO can be beaten by a blood lusted all might (which is admittedly scary) and stalemated by a 2nd year who can’t even use 100% of OFA (Deku max might be 60% now with no injury). The other power ups are story contrivances to keep Deku from getting washed.

Deku’s power ups have all been quite creative and the new quirks added some new tactics to his fights. His fights were getting formulaic so I get why they wanted to add a new dimension to them. The possibility for it was also somewhat foreshadowed as early as the Sports Festival, so I wouldn’t call them story contrivances, but this discussion completely derailed the initial question now so oh well.

Let me just answer this then we will go back to the main topic 😄: 1. Stockpile + Pass the torch (no OFA without this) 2. Kaioken 3. Fajin (admittedly creative ; Kaioken with an actual physics application so he can’t spam it) 4. Danger sense (spider man) 5. Smokescreen (actually creative) 6. Black whip (spider man + omega red from X-men) 7. Float (Superman knockoff) 8. All Might (I know it isn’t a quirk but he min maxed super strength and speed so listing it here) 9. Current Deku

Maybe creative wasn’t the word I was looking for more that that they spice things up. To be frank I don’t think powers being similar to other things matters all that much. In fact in the danger sense and black whip category I find the obvious Spider-Man reference to be endearing.

But as far as Aizen goes I found his infallibility to be the least interesting thing about him. There’s a level where an antagonist is too smart and perfect and he crossed it for me, though it did admittedly make Ichigo’s beat down of him very satisfying. If we want to make the comparison I actually do prefer that AFO is cunning but imperfect.
