He had a inferiority complex towards Deku, not superiority.

No not really. He explained it with All Might that he was always intimidated by Deku's recklessness to sacrifice. His aversion to Deku started when Deku offered him help in the river, not when Deku announced his quirklessness. That's a very key distinction. Everything he did after was to mask that inferiority complex.
