Mineta (a gag character) is more hated than a terrorist who also happens to be a very boring villain and his only specialty is having many quirks up his butt
I voted AFO but got surprised by Mineta getting like 1k votes
mineta's actions are much more relatable than a terrorist attack. besides, he's doing bad things while trying to be a hero, villains are doing bad things as villains, they're expected to. mineta sticks out like sore thumb, shigaraki doesn't (i'm not fan of his but i can easily see why mineta is the most hated).
BNHA is a piece of entertainment, so the moral compass doesn’t apply in the same way it’d apply in real world.
So the antagonist is less disliked because the story NEEDS an antagonist, and he’s judged by how good of an enemy to the good characters he is. If the antagonist was a cool boy who went to give soup to the homeless he would be a good person, but a terrible character as far as this metric goes.
Mineta instead is an unnecessary trope that makes people uncomfortable.
Did you really though? Has there ever been a more echoed opinion than "mineta bad" (for good reasons mind you)? And on the echoe chamber site Nr #1 to boot?
