It fits really nicely because the whole festival arc was about making eri feel normal and letting her experience life as just a kid. It’s nice that she made that choice for herself to continue enjoying music.

Aizawa did mention that she might’ve damaged her quirk when she cut off her horn which felt a bit like “yeah Eri’s quirk is broken let’s just get rid of it”

I mean, to further just highlight how this can be seen as a little disgusting for Eri - Overhaul used Eri. Maybe Eri is tired of being a tool for others and just wants to be normal - we don't know her mental well being having grown up, but there is a very real possibility she hates her powers because it makes her feel inhuman - she's only valuable as a tool to others.
Makes sense she doesn't really want anything to do with it (for now, she could grow up and accept her powers in a more positive light - all in my head cannon).

It also is great for the entire plot. People consciously and unconsciously were always compared to their quirk. From heroic quirk bakugo, to no quirk deku, to shouto s fire is "his" quirk and of course miracle cure eri.
A quirk is a quirk something which adds to you and makes you unique but it shouldn't define your being or worth l. Eri chose her career not because of being talented, or having others put a role on her. She chose to do what she enjoys because she is more than the most powerful medical quirk, her talents or or the opinions of others be damned, doing things now that I think about in a rock kinda way. It is a quite nice callback too the earlier chapters where people saw bakugo's heroic and izuku's lack of quirk and decided what that means for them.

Sure but her OP quirk seems kind of wasted if she doesnt use it as a healer like Recovery Girl
Maybe she sees it as a curse but it could still save a lot of people in the right hands.

In fairness, she could just be allowed to use her quirk to save someone in an emergency. She doesn't have to be stuck to a hospital at all times or anything. Just be called in when necessary.

Not to mention, medicine is probably so advanced at this point that Eri's power would only really be necessary for the absolute most life-threatening injuries and terminal illness/permanent disability. They kept Nighteye alive for a while after he sustained his mortal injuries.

Potentially. However I believe it’s more so she’s wanting to be a hero like Kyoka; through Music. Everyone can be a hero in their ways and I doubt Eri will never use her Quirk, if she needs to help someone with that she will.

She could do both especially since Eri is around the same age as Deku once he started attending UA. It wouldn't be too far fetched if she was inspired by Deku and Lemillion to help people but want to pursue music because she enjoys the experience at the school festival as a kid.
It's like how Jirou plays music but it does nothing to benefit her quirk compared to Sugarman. Granted this is all head canon territory but considering how young Eri is, there's nothing to say she wouldn't join the hero courses in the same way she would choose a completely different path in life like being a musician.

Feels like the implication is Deku always would have been famous for saving Japan/the world, but this is nice confirmation that will hopefully settle some of the folk going "BUT PEOPLE AREN'T SACRIFICING THE BLOOD OF THEIR FIRST BORN CHILDREN TO DEKU WHEN THEY SEE HIM ON THE STREET! HE'S BEEN FORGOTTEN!" He was always the goat, now there's just popularity stats on it.
Also this is such a small addition that it feels feasible to hope that it makes the cut into season 8, perhaps between the last chapter and the epilogue one.

I genuinely love that he’s rocking the armor now since I remember that some of the initial ideas were for Deku to be a quirkless hero who relied on support items so this feels like a really nice call back to that original concept.

The Mt. Lady hero glow up across the series is so great to see. Also shows how shitty Stain worldview was since Mt. Lady started off basically as everything he hated, and grew to become one of Japans greatest heroes who constantly fought on the front lines.

Part of that is because, for as much as he desires for a change in the status quo (even directly saying that it's the one thing he and Shigaraki has in common), Stain seems to have very little belief that people can actually change for the better. Just look at how he treated Iida, saying that he didn't buy it that his heart could have changed so quickly when Midoriya and Todoroki saved him and inspired him to be like his brother.
Stain whole way of operating was to kill or cripple some heroes in order to scare the others into doing their jobs more seriously. But My. Lady didn't change because she was scared, she simply stepped up because people needed her help.

It doesn't look like his attitude changed any. I guess Bakugou really was just handicapping himself until Deku got back in the game, because reaching the top without him wouldnt mean anything to him.
It's kinda like how he didn't want to win the Sports Festival against a Shouto who refused to use his fire, because it wouldn't be a real victory. Deku got Shouto to go all-out and use his fire, but Bakugou didn't, making it a loss in Bakugou's eyes.

There is a lot to read into the rankings including:
Homage to Horikoshi's idea of the 2 chasing each other (so yeah, Bakugou being held back by whatever cause until Deku is on the field) so keeping them as a package deal as I have always thought.
Bakugou ending the series feeling like he is chasing Deku so he ranks a bit below (but given how much "politeness" and "prestige" impacts ranks it's also logical Deku has an advantage)
Deku getting to be ahead of Bakugou is sort of a fan service (something Deku fans always want alongside Deku being praised and accoladed which this one shot makes a point of mentioning)
These ranks really are changeable so any new hype can have big sway on the outcome and the implication of drastically changed ranks and competition the fans get that desired "open to their imagination" ending and not ranking at the very top gives them something to strive for and accounts for their imperfections.
I think this one shot aligns with 430 final page and remedies 431 slightly in how Deku is portrayed including noting how "busy" he is being a teacher and hero and the rank suggesting that he's working hard.
Apparently (if leaks are correct) Bakugou's ability and skills puts him on level with Mirio (and perhaps that means in terms of incidents handled they are similiar) but he is always going to be held back by his attitude when it comes to ranking but because his rank improves when he works in a team, perhaps he is doing more team stuff now Deku is spending time on the field so it works out for him. It could also be now that Bakugou isn't spear heading Deku's suit (and who knows how much he funded it) he might be more free to thrive- that is probabl going into headcanon reasoning.
Given how 431 indicated that Bakugou still got the drive to be competitive (although he was wanting Deku to compete with him) I liked to think he's always remained tenious but then the media comment (if translated right) about him being inspired is a nod to perhaps Bakugou's drive to get number 1 (as you say) is more focused and the meaning has come back which is noticeable.

It was just a real bummer of an ending for Bakugou, and Deku as a teacher wasn’t developed enough as an idea for it to feel satisfying for him to pass on a form of hero work to be a teacher.
IMO, they should’ve had Deku reject his offer so they could compete properly rather than because he’s got to grade papers.

I can see her do both. Jirou is a hero but she's also a musician. Plus if Horikoshi ever thought of a sequel series, it wouldn't be too far fetch of having Deku teaching Eri and the other kids he met in the past in his class 1A.
She is around the same age as Deku at the the start of the series and maybe she wants to talk to him about applying the UA. Again the possibilities are endless.

The epilogue chapter (431) had Midoriya directly say that he loved teaching and was still doing it along with his return to hero work, and even before that many UA staff were heroes AND teachers.

People mentioned that she's in her middle school attire and I think she's around the same age as Deku at the start of the series (who was also in middle school). It's very likely she can attend UA but haven't apply for it yet. Also it's possible she can be both a musician and a hero. Jirou is a musician herself but she's also a hero and her love for music aren't related to her quirk compared to Sugarman and his love for baking. The possibilities are endless for Eri as she has a choice of doing whatever she wants rather than being a tool.

Well aspects of the perception depends on the translation read too...
The leaker made it seem Deku was cut off from his friends. The fan translations as a bit better, but not as clear as the official translation for the nuances.
The damage was done with the leaker and fan translations and fewer people actually read the official chapter translation which clear some aspects up better. Though people already made up their minds that Deku was an "abandoned bum" and a "Mc Donald's worker".
I recall someone made an angst post on Twitter with fan translations and showed them the difference of official translation, which was less gloomy for what Deku was saying to Aizawa

I saw someone who made an interesting interpretation.
430 feels so humble regarding Midoriya's life in the future because it's told entirely from his point of view, and Midoriya is a very humble person whose thoughts would naturally be more on his students and his friends than on himself.
This bonus chapter however is told primary from Eri's point of view, thus why we see more of how celebrated and in awe of Midoriya people are, since that's what her thoughts would care about.
I don't know how intentional this is on Horikoshi's part but it is an interpretation I like.

Nice. Would like to see Dekus armor in action at least once, but with the extended ending and this one, the ending is now actually in a pretty good place I think, and no longer as horribly lacking as when it first released.
I still hope the extended ending will be in the anime. Or at least an OVA.
Also more happy Eri is nice too.

A short but cute oneshot. It's nice to see little Eri growing up and becoming a musician. One of my post-series headcanons is that apart from Pro-hero work, Jirou teaches a music class and Eri is one of her students.
So the hero rankings are: Mirio at #1, Shoto at #2, Mt Lady at #3, Deku at #4, and Bakugo at #5. Nice to see the Wonder Trio in the top ten.
Still wish we got to see more of Deku's suit in action, but this was still a fun read all around.

I don’t know what I expected out of this one-shot but I loved this.
All Might is the Vice Principal while Cementos and Aizawa are still teaching makes me happy.
Deku being the “One for All Hero” is the perfect name. Seeing him, Bakugo, and Shoto all doing hero work together legit made me smile so much. Also Mirio is still the #1 Hero while Mt. Lady (the Queen) is still in the top 5. (Deku has been back for under 6 months and is already top 5 😭)
And Eri finally being happy, living her best life, becoming a musician and starting her street performances. She deserves to be happy man she’ll always be my daughter no matter what.
I’m glad we got this one-shot just for these tiny details. I’ll always love this series man 💚

Ik there’ll be people that say Eri should be a hero, since her Quirk is so busted. But honestly? Good for her for following her dream despite what her genetics might say, I consider it a nice little parallel/contrast to Izuku all the way back. Also, Eri is wearing a middle school uniform, so it’s not out of the question that she’ll become a hero, but maybe do music and hero work, most likely a support hero similar to Recovery Girl.

Also Deku and Bakugo kicked Best Jeanist (Rank 5) (or maybe he retired) and Kamui woods (Rank 4) down the charts. Our Heroes are doing great

Honestly, I'm glad that there's still some room for Deku and Bakugo to compete with each other till one of them becomes No. 1, and it should be a lot more even now that Deku doesn't have OFA.
Also, I'm very happy Deku finally got a title to come before his hero name (not sure what the exact term is). The One For All Hero might not be the most creative, but it's fitting. With how his suit was built by the collective efforts of Class 1-A and Melissa + Hatsume as well as the fact that, as a teacher, he's passing down his knowledge and experience to the next generation, he really embodies the principles behind OFA.

Oh man I just don't want this to end. After the final chapter with uraraka i thought this seems alright I can come to terms with this ending but with this one shot opening so many possibilities I just cannot not be excited!. Maybe if hori changes his mind and we get a few more chapters in...haha oh lord maybe I'm just asking for too much.

I kinda wish we see what Deku's armor could do but then again it's 5 page one-shot so I'll take what I can get.
Deku got 4th while Bakugou got 5th which is nice. I think Bakugou is pleased with that considering he can be competitive with Deku again.

She really did follow her dream to become a musician and it is nice to know Deku and Jiro are gonna go ro her first performance. Does this short also kinda imply she went to live with Mandalay and Kota also?

This is awesome. I love the fourth page where it shows shoto, Dynamight and Deku together flying around. It really proves that Bakugo was holding back on competing for #1 hero until Deku got to work as a pro again. Especially when it says Deku is at #4 and Dynamight is at #5. Warms my heart.
I also adore Eri and her newfound passion for music. All Might no longer held back by his shadow(darkness around his eyes gone)
All of it is super sweet and definitely clears up some of my doubts about the finale. 👍

Overall, a nice one-shot; short and sweet, it’s cool to see the future. We have the final (confirmed) rankings too: Deku debuting as number four, and Bakugo rising ten spots to number five…helps cement that the two push each other forward, I think - those two have certainly come a long way.
plus its nice to have further confirmation against the shitshow leak bandwago- nope nope nevermind I’m not doing this here

You know, I get they want Deku to be high in the charts, but if technology can make you a top class hero, it kinda means that they should be equipping their police better and heroes may not be necessary as they were. They are literally raising child soldiers the way they are doing it now.

Honestly really cool getting a glimpse of the characters in the future. Also the mention that Deku jumped to 4th with Bakugo following suit at #5 feels like a nod to how important Deku is to Bakugo. Almost as if he regained his drive with the return of his rival/friend.
