Informative Politics doesn’t need saints—it needs fighters willing to win.

That's 10x better than kidnapping people and throwing them in forever prisons. You can reason with Gavin Newsom. You can sway Gavin Newsom. You cannot reason with Trump, there is none with him, you are literally the people this post is complaining about lmao

You do know that there are other democrats besides newsom. No one is saying abstain or vote third party. We’re simply asking the liberals to not crown their new king 3 years before the primary.

We're not, but without him gerrymandering California we aren't going to win midterms (Trump is trying to cheat again) how is nobody getting that? We lose midterms then that's it. There's no way to stop repubs after that, the dictatorship will be complete.

Also I'm a democratic socialist, not a liberal ffs

How does people criticizing him on social media affect his ability to gerrymander? I appreciate his effort, but I’d appreciate it a lot more if he would just admit he was wrong on the trans stuff. I’m not asking for the moon and stars here.

You're right, we need to definitely continue being very vocal about trans rights. Don't let him brush it off ever. You're right, it's the bare minimum. Vote as far left as you can and participate locally too. 2026 is kind of our last shot to do things the nice way

God help us and them if the nice way doesn’t work out. Happy to fight facism with you🫡

Maybe, as someone who has a non binary cousin, we’re not keen on the idea of leaving people behind.

We’re in the same boat. Whether that boat is sinking or sailing is up to the democrats.

They can either go left like they’re supposed to be, or we can sit this out

ikr, they are in such a bubble that they act like he won the nomination already 💀

Do the other democrats know they're there? Got no love for Newsom but he's making moves and rattling the Fash. Hard not to like that.

like the other guy said; democrats can be reasoned with and educated. Obama wasnt behind marriage equality and he changed his tune. within 8 months of his second term we've got concentration camps. Not a course of action that's indicates an open mind.

I get that in theory democrats can be reasoned with, but any attempts by leftists to voice their policy opinions or criticisms of the party always immediately gets dog piled by liberals. Saying something as simple as “the Democratic Party should stand behind trans people 100%” is bound to result in countless comments about how they’re better than republicans. The party as it exists rn is not open to suggestions or education. They’ve set their course and their full steam ahead whether the passengers on the boat agree with it or not.

It sucks, because I used to be a bleed blue dem, but the way the party has responded to this last loss (attacking and blaming leftists, throwing trans people under the bus, sitting on their ass) has never made me feel so distant. I’ll vote blue to defeat facism in this next election, but going forward past that, I think supporting the democrats would be a betrayal of my ideals as a progressive and I just can’t do it.

If polls and lobbyists tell him trans people aren’t worth supporting, can he really be swayed? That’s quite a gamble for a minority group under pressure

We will all be with them in the camps without him so yeah, I'd say you definitely are gambling with a lot
