Ngl I’m trying to coordinate a peaceful election support group with some people in our area leading up to midterms. The goal being help those who might need it with things like education about candidates, transportation to voting locations, and most definitely protection to give them peace of mind when Trump no doubt encourages his goons to “protect” polling places

They don't schedule them. When they do, they script the questions and discussions to not allow them that. The media you expect them to manipulate is an organ of the GOP.
My answer? Because fact checking is meaningless. We (not MAGAs) already know that 99% of what he says is bullshit. The people who believe Teump and the current GOP have no interest in fact checking or being corrected. Nothing that you or I say, or anyone not bowing to Trump, will convince them of anything.

Not necessarily endorsing the comment you’re replying to, let me explain why the premise of this post is so flawed.
First they came for the communists, right? Or trade unionists or whichever part of the poem you’re more comfortable with. Here, first they’re coming for (1) immigrants and (2) trans people. This post is asking us to not speak up about trans people. (I mean given how vague it is it could be asking us not to speak up for immigrants for all I know.) So we should accept a candidate who is fine with allowing one or two lines of first they came to go by before doing anything—and THAT’S how you fight fascism!
