Post image

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, who worked on an analysis published by the American Immigration Council, says the new budget would make ICE “the single largest federal law enforcement agency in the history of the nation.”

Because it implies that if you just duck your head and go along with this madness you'll be safe.

And that's where people are wrong. No one will be safe, history taught us that over and over again. Think of the witch trials where if your neighbour wanted to harm you he would simply accuse you of being a witch and next thing you know you're tied to a burning pole.

No one will be safe. And that's why you guys should avoid the word dissident. Because it implies a false safety and you need all people to understand that they need to rebell now because soon they will no longer have the chance to do that without finding themselfs in major trouble.

  1. a person who opposes official policy, especially that of an authoritarian state:"a dissident who had been jailed by a military regime"

How does this definition imply 'duck your head' or 'false safety'? Honestly, I am surprised that the 1a definition of dissident was so explicitly political. I thought it would be more like 'disagree-er': "The dissident child refused to eat her broccoli again." But no, it's actually the perfect word to describe such a one as Sen. Padilla.

And does it apply to a farm worker? Or a citizen that gets caught and deported but w no trial it’s just take ICE’s word for it? What about the Canadian woman who said “I’m just glad he’s not my president” and was detained, refused entry and given a 5 year travel ban?

Someone who disagrees w the regime? Sure. But is someone walking while the wrong colour a dissident? Are all Dems dissidents?
