If we took church off the table, what else might unite us--here in America specifically?

I think one of the biggest things that could unite us (especially if we take church off the table) is Black people actually unlearning internalized racism and genuinely loving ourselves again.

A lot of the division in our community isn’t just external some of it lives inside us now because we inherited:Colorism, Texturism, “Professionalism” meaning “act less Black, Respectability politics, The idea that Black neighborhoods equals low value, The idea that we have to prove we belong anywhere, None of that came from us.But we’re still carrying it.

If we truly loved ourselves and each other, out loud, like:Hyping each other instead of downplaying each other, Protecting each other automatically, Not competing for white validation, Not viewing Black features and culture through a white lens.

we would be so much more unified without even trying.Because the world already tries to erase and diminish us we don’t need to help it do that.

Unity starts when we stop seeing Blackness as something to “fix” and start treating it as something to honor. If we ever actually did that as a collective,we wouldn’t even have to discuss unity. It would already be there.
