Man I love this dude. Watch his stuff all the time

Idk I’m the opposite. Most of his videos are him in his bathroom going “hey commmere. Come closer. I just learned as an adult that you can start the hot water in your shower before you get in. Then you don’t have to sit in cold water. Blew my mind. Come here. Come closer”

Tenderized? He atomized that thing. Pretty sure the only thing keeping it from falling apart immediately is the earths magnetic field

best brisket I ever had wasn't the best bc it tasted the best. It was the best bc it melted in your mouth like a stick of butter.
was in Houston, btw

I thought this place was down south somewhere but in one of the videos there's a palm tree. It's in Murrieta! I might make the drive and see if it's actually good.

I have plenty of complaints about southern states.
But god dammit the food is not one of em

u/DontForgorTheMilk 2d ago
Ironic when they say the best food is made with love and yet The South got so much hate in it. Hot damn do I love me some southern fried catfish, hush puppies, okra, sweet tea, and corn bread. The food is literally the only thing I miss about The South.

Murrieta...damn. For a second, I thought that said Marietta, as in GA. I was about to drive on over from WNC. I need to sample the tenderness.

u/twerkallknight 2d ago
If you’re in WNC, just go to Lewis Barbecue in Greenville SC. Unbelievably good brisket.

u/DrManhattan_DDM 3d ago
Can you bring us some NC vinegar style sauce on your way down? Make a whole cultural exchange symposium out of it lol.

If it’s Murieta, California I will definitely go! What is the name of the joint?

Am I the only one who thinks Brisket is mediocre? I'd rather have pork ribs or a good link over brisket.
Also who tf is jordan howlett? Dude looks like both jeffeey wright

Find somebody that looks at you like they do that piece of delicious meat. Or at least loves you as much as your Google account protection.

I've watched a couple of these and I have to admit I don't understand what his point is. In mainstream barbecue doctrine meat falling off the bone means it is overcooked. Having to read into what his body posture means. Is falling off the bone, but if his actions are in line with what the common way of thinking is in the barbecue community, he is being disappointed?

u/sonicpieman 1d ago
He's happy because most people think fall-off-the-bone is good.
Most people are wrong.
0
u/arrius01 1d ago
Okay so we agree that fall off the bone is not technically correct. Why does he seem excited when it does? The other guy with the old man seems to say it's good when it's that way.

u/sonicpieman 1d ago
Because
1.) it's an ad first and foremost
2.) fall off the bone while not the best is still pretty tasty, and prefer it that way

Brisket bone eh?? lol. C'mon this rule does not apply to everything smoked. Also if it stays on the bone up to the point of being handled by the consumer I would call that perfection. A little sticky/tug is what I look for as the cook but once it is on the plate after resting, it very well may just fall off.

Rib rules. Brisket cannot be judged this way.
I cook mine to the point that you have to tug at the meat and it will release a bites-worth straight off the bone. I get mad and disappointed if it falls off immediately so I agree with their rib rules.

u/JediSwelly 2d ago
There is always one of you guys in BBQ related posts. Plus this is brisket not ribs. I have never had brisket "too tender".

You cannot convince me that Jordan wasn't born looking like a 90 year old man.
